Man, seeing an actual ad for this is great news! I will definitely belly up & order one or two.
I wonder if maybe since the BA's will be a regular production item, if the prices will come down a little? With their current non-production status, I can understand why they are priced high these days...so maybe...
Here's a direct link to the larger pic, for anyone not savvy enough to paste it to a new window...

So by trade i just work with computers. My DW "collecting" is just a very simple hobby. I have NO pretense of being able to make any money from it. Of course that was never a goal, the goal has been and mostly continues to be to have a good time with a great shooting and fun.. nearly custom gun.
All that said you do have to wonder, what CZ's move could mean to an otherwise static market.
How will the .357 target gun be received in revolver market made up of 96% of only two guns being made and sold new: S&W 500, and small lightwieght Self defense guns.
Then how will DW only market be affected? With the presence of a NEW DW 715 at a set price, I would think the prices of all DW revolvers would adjust ... possibly up due to marketing helping to stir up demand and partly higher new prices "pulling" up old DW prices as fill-ins to those unable or unwilling to pay for new.
Then there is the decision of DW to only make the 715 and not blue version. Could this actually drive up the perceived rarity of a blued gun? Wouldn't that be interesting? And what of SS BA's? Given the availability of NEW SS guns, and new SS BA's.. I could see a surge in the market for old SS BA's again as an alternative to the new BA's prices. Generally DW did not much differentiate the pricing on the two.
Lastly, and very much of interest will be how EWK and his offering will affect DW market as a whole. While "I" certainly don't want to pay more, it would Eric is well positioned to maximize profits by making sure to deliver what-ever is popular and/or by filling otherwise un-filled demand. This is actually the most exciting to me.
I have high hopes for a very fun next couple of years for this hobby.

Thanks Blacktop for the info on opening the article/picture in another tab/browser, I can read it fine now!
The new shroud profile throws a wrench into premaking BA's for the new Dan's so they match. Just looking at the picture of the new Dan, the shroud might be, if I'm not dreaming, have a flater bottom part and the vented rib top part may be a little different too.
Eric
I think this is a general generic design pic so common in the sporting industry and
not an exact sketch . I may be wrong on that but I see to many indifferences.
ex.: ejector rod to short, no stop screw for trigger....ect.

Probably covered already, but today I spoke with Keith at CZ-USA DBA DANWESSON (According to my caller I.D.), and he confirmed.
I asked about price, and was instantly priced out of the market. When he said over $1,000, my mind locked-up, and I didn't think to ask if this was for a single barrel, or for a set.

What is it that you are trying to confirm and price?
I sort of figured they would be priced in the Freedom Arms range. They will need to position themselves as the premier double action revolver manufacture. That's why I feel they need to bring back the large frames and the big calibers.
I'm still going to scrape up some pennies to get one of the new one though! If they don't see the 715's they probably wont bring back the SuperMags.

I would think whatever frame they tool up for would then lend itself to be fairly simple to build all the calibers in that frame size since they still build the shrouds and barrels for existing guns? All they would have to do is machine cylinders of the various calibers. They could build .22's and .32's without much effort.

A man cannot have too many SuperMags
I agree SMF, once they have tooled up making the various calibers on the small frame platform would be relatively easy. I'm looking forward to seeing the new gun! I'm also excited about the 1911 in 38 Super they have coming out as well. Might pick this one up to replace my stolen CBOB.

When I looked about for what works with ICORE and Steel outlaw, there seemed to be a buzz on .327 or some such and 38 super for the autos. I have to wonder thought if DW is wary of chasing "short lived" calibers just based rules of some shooting sport.
As to price ... I think we all can agree DW will use the same model for the wheelies as they do for the 1911's .. your gonna pay for their premium gun.

I was "fishing" trying to see if I could shame them into correcting the rear fixed sight manufacturing error on the Palmer, 14 FB that I've been worrying everyone about. Keith agreed the frame should never have left the shop, but he didn't have sufficient "shame" to fix it on his dime.
The "Return of the DW revolver" was a side discussion.

There seems to be a fair number of folks over on the 1911forum.com that request the 38 Super but whether or not they would pony up the money for one is a different story. As for odd calibers I think they will be producing such small numbers they would be grabbed up quick.
I know I for one would shell out money quicker for a DW in 327 Mag quicker than for a 715. No good reason why besides I already have 2 15's and a 715.
I think DW was only going to be producing around 3500 / 4000 1911's this year. I'm betting they will not produce that many revolvers next year.

Here is a post by Keith over on the 1911forum.
Hi boys and girls! Sure has been a awhile and we are all busy beavers at DW pumping out our guns as fast as we can. We have even started machining some of our guns for 2011! A first for us! Actually because of the finishing problems we had this year we are a little behind on where I wanted to be with next years product but still ahead of where we have ever been before.
So What's NEW???Well you are going to see a lot more of the same from this year with a few additions like Dave said. .45 Guardian, PM9, .357 Revolver Model 715, and the Elite series. (The Elite series will be by order only.)
The 715 is scheduled to hit stores around June. This has been a long awaited project and we already know it is going to be a success.
Some of you may see a limited run of Razorbacks. These are not in the catalog but were special ordered at the last minute. These will have the same sights and recoil system as the Heritage, sport our new Duty Finish and be dressed in a set of Dirty Olive slim VZ Operator grips. It will be a really cool piece for sure.
Here is a link to the thread if you want read it in its entirety. It's nice to see news of the return of revolvers to production and though you guys would want to read it.
I was a little surprised by that number as well. Here is the post Erik is referring to...

The 715 will be closer to $1200.00 MSRP. Yes you can get a 30 year old used DW revolvers on auction for less. Then send them to use to have them fixed so they work properly. Oh...You want that refinished to look factory new too? Well now you are over MSRP of a new 715. You do the math. Did I mention that those old guns are selling at or for more than what they sold for new? It kind of sounds like I am upset.... I am just trying to put things into perspective. There will be approx. 1200 715's made this year.
