So after swapping my 1522 to a 22Mag. I decided to save for another 22lr. After saving enough and looking at the options online I felt this one off of GA was going to be my choice. It has a 4” barrel and the black presentation grip. I already have a 6” vented standard shroud ba and a 10” heavy vented shroud ba. I thought the 4” would be nice for both the 22 Lr and 22 mag. I also didn’t have a black grip so it checked a few boxes for me. My 3 small framed guns are deep blue and as I got to looking at this one it looks like the frame is of the Barney purple. It seems very slight compared to others I’ve seen. I guess my question is what are your thoughts on the frame. Is it a Barney or am I just seeing it differently than what I’m used to? I like the thought of having a different one from my others even though at first I was never crazy about how they looked. Thanks for your input and I can’t wait for it to ship.

The Model 15 is a .357 Mag caliber and the Model 22 is a .22LR
Barney is a personal aesthetic choice. I like Barney, but some don't. There are plenty of 22's out there, so if you don't like Barney, wait for one that doesn't have it. The first pic clearly shows a finish color difference between the frame and shroud, so with the poor pics, I'd venture to say that it does have some.
All small frame blue Dans have a different hue on the frames than the steel on the sideplate, shrouds, and cylinders. That is because the frames are investment cast. It is said by some that the ceramic mold imparts a bit of silicon to the surface of the steel that can produce a plum colored Barney hue in some guns. It may be that new molds may do that more than older ones. If you look at what appears to be a perfect blue gun in strong sunlight it will show a difference. As long as it is a even dark plum a will accept it in an otherwise high ninety rated gun. Pink, mottled, and orange hues I eschew.
