I took my DW to the rifle range today to zero the sights for a long range target comp next sunday. After having shot from both 50 and 100 meters we moved to 300 m and tried a few rounds just for fun. The target was probably five feet across and the black spot 1½ feet but it sure didn't feel like it I hit the target with most of my rounds when I held almost all of the front sight above the rear but hitting the black center was purely luck since it also was quite windy. Really cool to be able to put lead on target at rifle-ranges with a revolver

Jim: Nope Samson/IMI .44 mag. I haven't gotten hold of any .44 bullets for reloading yet. Got brass and primers but not the bullets
ph: Do you expect me to hit a 6″ clay from 300 meters (330 yards)??? I'm glad I hit the 5' target! Gotta bring a lot of clays in that case. I'm not superman. Lol
No I had a guy standing in the concrete trench below the targets with a marking stick showing me the hits after every shot. Sweet.
Needless to say, It was a lot of fun!

Nice looking range!
If you are hitting at 300 meters you might want to participate in the August DWF Shooting Match[Image Can Not Be Found]!

The gongs are just old scrap, very soft steel, hanging from chains. One is manhole cover size, the other is dinner plate size. Here's a pic of one of the Specialty Pistols shoots we had here. Those are Half-Scale silhouette chickens on the rail.
Sorry, none of the above is me. Here's what the gongs look like from the firing line with 6 of the Half-Scale targets on the rail.
