Glad to see you on here Jody. Hope every one is doing better.
I hear ya bout this one. I keep seeing the Dan Wesson, asg that don't even resemble a DW at all. I saw on the face book, some young buck put up a picture of his asg, braggin bout it was his Dan Wesson... Had to show him the difference..

Probably not Cipher, what you see is what you get, although the one shown in the video is a prototype and the production revolvers will have better finishes with the correct pattern on the grips. I think they have just started shipping to stores. From what I know there is a 6mm bb, a 4.5mm steel bb and a 4.5 pellet version.

Nothing about that is Dan Wesson, except that they finally put the cylinder latch in the right place.
What is that piece of crap wrapped around the barrel all about? A place to put a DW logo!

I must have missed this thread when it first started back in February. This is a rare occasion where I will respectfully disagree with Steve, looking at the video and other pics I think it looks like a nice rendition of the real 715. Keeping in mind that it is merely licensed by Dan Wesson Firearms, it is not purported to be a clone or knockoff of the real thing, and at about 10% of the list price of a real model 715 it appears to be a nicely done pellet gun. The rail is an add on option and probably perfectly functional for its purpose if lacking in style. The earlier revolvers that ASG marked Dan Wesson were merely an old model of theirs renamed.
Now I am behind the times when it comes to airsoft guns. I looked at the ASG website but they don't really explain anything for dummies like me. Am I understsanding correctly that airsoft guns are made to fire different pellets, either a plastic 6mm or a 4.5mm steel pellet? Are the steel pellets the same .177 cal. steel pellets we are all familiar with growing up?
I cannot think of any use for a gun that shoots plastic pellets for me personally, but if I can get one that shoots the traditional BBs I would like to get one of these pistols. I still take my BB rifle to the cabin and shoot beer, oop, I MEAN soda cans etc.

Whoa Now! People disagreeing with me? Get in line behind my wife
I just don't get the air soft thing, and I hate the idea that people think this is actually a Dan Wesson in any way, except that CZ licensed the name.
On the other hand, not everyone needs to like or not like what I do, so
Have Fun!

I have one of the earlier ones with the Smiff style cylinder release. I shoots steel BB's that you first insert into what look like 357 hollow point bullets. The BB fits into the hollow point. The gun is actually pretty accurate and is fun for plinking at cans etc. I realize that its a cheap attempt by CZ to get money out of the Dan Wesson name, but its still fun.

Also not very familiar with asg revolvers, but I read that they make two different models in terms of power output, one for airsoft and one for plinking, by using different shells and barrels you can have the type of "ammo" you want. What I believe is that Steve regards putting the Dan Wesson brand on an airgun a form of sacrilege, excuse me if I'm wrong, and I can understand that, but I think its a nice way to spread the Dan Wesson name with a nice executed working replica. And what really amazed me is the following. During the past summer I was in the isle of mykonos on a job trip to check some oil coolers of the power unit they have for electricity and bumped into an American tourist (don't remember his name) that I think was from Long Island, he was a gun entusiast that knew his way around guns, member of the NRA, and had not heard of Dan Wesson revolvers not even 1911's. He wasn't aware of the brand, an American! Gun entusiast!. Cz and Dan Wesson should step up their game in letting people know they exist!

Oh man, I find myself in the weird position of agreeing with my brother!
To me a Dan Wesson goes Boom. An air gun goes pffft.
It might have an outward resemblance to a 715 and no matter how well executed it is, at the end of the day it's plastic copy toy of a real firearm. Probably fun for what it is, I just wish CZ hadn't hung DW on it.
