Went to my Tue morning trap league today and on the second round the firing pin broke on my 1956 Franchi 48. Ended my shooting early, not to mention killed my bird count.
Next week I have to remember to take a back up shotgun.
Firing pins for the 12 ga 48's are getting hard to find, but Numerich had a few so I think I'll be back up and running in a few days.
I did have some extra time to go to the pistol range and vent my frustrations.
Weather today SUCKED, first day of spring and we're getting the biggest snowstorm we've had all season. COLD, windy and snow starting so I didn't stay at the 15 yard range very long. Only had time to shoot a few rounds but I'm really happy with how this gun performs.
It is a bit quirky though, it doesn't care too much for flat point bullets and it's very difficult to find 40 cal bullets in anything but flat point. I managed to get some 155LRN at a show recently and also ordered some 155 FMJ round ball from Berrys.
So here is the result, 15yds, off hand, cold and windy.
155 LRN 6.2 gn Unique.
Gun, Dan Wesson SSC in 40S&W.
