So this week end was the MS gun owners meet and Greet III. My son ( age 13) and attended and had a blast. i was very proud of my son for following directions being safe and participating as fully as he could.
We both shot at the Demo steel challenge.
Son shot:
my DW 15-2
target 9mm
carry 9mm
AR 15
Full auto M16
Scoped and silented 308 bolt action ( not sure what)
full race S&W with aimpoint
I shot:
M1919 ( think thats it) Full auto machine on a tripod .30 cal
They had a .50 cal but they were not shooting it.
full race S&W with aimpoint
And of course my own DW's with nearly all the barrels.
We had a really good time, went through over 200 rounds of my ammo, plus the other ammo we shot. My son was enthusiatically invited back.
The Good news, I picked up yet another 15-2, VH4 with aftermarket case, two pachy grips and some ammo in very good conditition ( only slight turn ring) for $400. Not a great buy but not horrible, and both of us left happy.
The bad news, that was my trip money for going to OH this week.

My son in the red shirt, loading up the DW to shoot with Zack looking on.
Zack showing my son how to shoot his 9mm. In the background, the guy int he wheek chair with my 15-2 and a EWK slab 6" EH setup. It was hit.
Zack shooting my 15-2, note the EWK FO sight.
My son, Quint, getting ready to shoot a silenced and scoped .308.

Great bunch of pictures. Who owns the fully auto guns and who furnishes the ammo? You must be really proud of your son. I have taught the now 15 year old next door all about shooting. I furnish guns and ammo. Next he will learn to clean them. lol I would have liked to be there to see all that action.

Everything is privately owned by members. We made donations for the ammo, $15 for a 15 round belt of .30 or the same for a 30rnd clip for the AR/M16/AK47.
My son actually begged to help clean the guns.. and he did a good job. We took the crane/cylinder out of three guns and he cleaned those and and the frame, while I cleaned the barrels.

Very nicely done, wish I had the oppertunity when I was a child. Looks like a real good time. How did the DW revolvers go over??? Any comments on the Slab Side?
DW's if they are even know to exist, are mostly a curiosity. This part of the state is 99% smiffs. Even Colt and Rugers take a long back seat. Even more, just like much of the nation, semi-autos are the "in" thing, esp if it is "para-military". That said, most people that shot my gun said it felt very good, and the two that shot with the slab side seemed to like it. Of course they aren't, giving up thier smiffs though.
I have 4 model 15-2 and 1 PM7 - I figure I own more DW's in MS than any other in the state, and probably have more than 10% of all the Dw's in the state. The guy I bought the 15-2 from use to have 3 DW, and with this sale is down to one. Islandtimes I think has 2.

Yea, I'm a Georgia boy. Used to think I was the only guy in Georgia who had any Dan's. Then here in the last 6 months or so GB has been full of Dans in Georgia. There are a few Georgia members here, just none any where near as full of useless babble as I am.
