Like many folks I'm reacting to an ammunition shortage, recently I got into a pretty substantial purchase of .22 lr.
Today as I'm packing the range bag for a rimfire session at the local Club I was selecting the ammo to take along, I spotted an old .50 cal ammo can on the floor of the "Armory", and said to myself: "Self, what is in there?" I discovered a very interesting stash of odds and ends:
The background is part of the BVAC bulk buy,and some of this was already on the shelf, but I found another 1500 of stuff, some of which I don't even remember buying. The most puzzling one was 100 rounds of what looks like CCI something (not the Green Tag), that I'm pretty sure went into storage with my original 15-2 in about 1980. We'll find out today if it still goes bang.
Unfortunately, I'm into my last box of Federal AutoMatch, easily my favorite .22 lr choice for accuracy -vs- cost
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I found some old 22lr that was so old the lead bullets were getting corrosion on them. Aside from being a little harder to chamber, everyone went bang. They had to have been at least 30years old. If kept dry, ammo lasts a LONG time.
Steve, nice grouping on that 50 ft with the SR. I like mine quite well. It needs more shooting to break in, its still a little stiff.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
