The 714 is just a little funky looking with at least one pitted spot on the sideplate that looks a little like a casing flaw and some strange black stuff on the hammer that looks pretty permanent, almost like it's a black hammer that was refinished, and the finish is wearing. I love stainless guns, but this 714 is not a must have for me, I'd rather hold out for a 14-2 for the same $$$.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hossman - It's possible that you've simply transferred to guys like me, I've bought my first three DW revolvers in 2 months, and I am pouting like a little girl because Friday I missed a local listed 715 8" with box and all accessories for under $400 by a couple of hours.
I don't think you've been cured, maybe in remission...
Let us know if you want save some gas on the RV by dropping some harware in various cities....I can think one, Peoria, AZ!!!
Enjoy your time with your family!!

I have to confess that DWAS is in stage 5 with me. I fell off the wagon last week and another DW is to be delivered to my FFL this week, maybe even today. Dave has offered to post a picture for me when I can get a picture of all 10 2011 purchases. I'll need my wide angle lens.

I have very minimal need for any more DW's (because I have very minimal $$$ to spend). I have a 744 that I will probably sell or trade to pick up the right DW revolver (either a NICE 14-2 or a Model 22), and I always have my eye out for a beater 15-2 that needs refinishing at a great price.
MAYBE going back for a second look at a 714, but he's gotta come off his price by at least $50.
Like I said, not much $$$ available now
Steve, I have a 714 and a 715 i might trade one for 744 they both have LB ebony grips on them both in nice shape 714 is like new both have 4" barrels if interested letme know

I embrace the good old ... turns out it has been the cure for MAS (motorcycle aquisition Syndrome)....
Not only can I buy more DW's than bikes, the DW's hold their value much longer (401k-DW) and are a lot easier on my body !!!

For sure, man, except I had GAS (guitar, or, generally, Gear Acquisition Syndrome)! Guns sure do hold their value better than guitars, even nice ones. They lose value almost as fast as a new car.
