Found out earlier today that a friend, fellow shooter and gunsmith was in a car accident this thursday.
He, his girlfriend an their one year old son ended up in the front of a semi trailer. Needless to say their car was completely wrecked and the semi looked pretty beaten up in the pictures in the news.
My friend and his girlfriend both died before they reached the hospital and their son was transported by helicopter to the nearest children's hospital with severe injuries, haven't heard anything about him yet.
My thought goes out to their family, what a horror to receive news like that just before christmas.
I write this post with tears in my eyes an a nearly empty bottle of whiskey beside me, it's not my intention to spoil the holidays for you guys but I just had to get a load off.

I'm sure we can appreciate your feelings at this point. It might help to vent, but prayers are better. We can all give a prayer for the child and hope his injuries turn out to be minimal and a speedy recovery.

His name is Leo, as to his condition I don't know.

Alor, this surely is terrible news to hear...not only at any point during the year, but especially before Christmas. There is just no explaining the reasoning behind an event like this, what a heartbreaking story.
I wish you the very best during your time of grief, and truly hope that little Leo will be able to recover from this & go on to lead a happy life. Stay strong, for this too shall pass.

Thank you all for your kind words! I really appreciate them.
I remember reading the news article thursday night thinking "poor souls to go like that" and yesterday when I found out who it was, it hit me pretty hard.
It's strange, I've never really thought about that my family and friends can get snatched away. Not too pleasant to be thinking about. I know everyone have to go sooner or later, I'd just prefer that it's later... much later.

I've just got news about Leo, he is seriously injured but he is stable and the doctors thinks that the injuries are not life threatening.
