Interesting refernce in a GB Auction:
"Original Monson made Dan Wesson Revolver. Judging
by the serial number it was made around 1976 (according to
danwessonforum.com's serial number list)."

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yeah I saw that... odd looking grip on it.
Did you see the "trivia" post???? They ask veiwers not to bid but to just email them with what they had. Looks to me to be some custom "re-fabricated" DW parts. In fact it looks like a 15-2 shroud with a barrel marked .44 mag. The barrel nuts were wrong, and there was a pin at the ejector rod point in the shroud. I figure they were done up to go on a smiff or colt...

I think you're exactly right. I'm guessing with Smith, probably an old pencil barrel .44 Special? That's about the only one I can think of that would have a small enough frame to accept a 15-2 size BA.
Steve, the word's officially out...the is THE place for accurate DW info.
Good work, brother!
