Went to the show in York, PA today. Waited outside in the cold for 20 minutes before they opened the doors at 9 AM. Show was crowded but they said it was much worse yesterday. Vendors selling ARs and accessories were very busy. I did manage to find a guy with Magpul 30rnd mags still selling for $16. No 223 ammo to be found. I haven't followed the prices of 308 cal semi autos but $3000 seemed to be the asking price point for most anything bigger than a 223.
There was only one Dan Wesson revolver there, a 44 mag with 6 and 8 Vent BAs in the styrofoam box from Monson. Had tools, two barrel tubes and manual. Said it was unfired but I could not document that. He was asking $1200, I passed, mine's nicer anyway.
Other than that, nothing fantastic jumped out at me.

Any idea what AR's were going for? Just curious, everyone says the market has skyrocketed. Not surprising on the ammo, there is very little left around here.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The only two I saw, a Smith and Wesson and a Colt, were selling about $1250. These were basic models, without lots of rails or other add on's. 7.62s were selling in the $3000 and up range, didn't see many of those going out the door though at that price. I almost picked up a Ruger AR in 22LR but didn't. I may revist that decision in a few days.
I just read a blurb on AOL news that said Brownells stated they have sold 3.5 years worth of AR parts/mags in the last 72 hours.

I was going to go to the York show this past weekend, I decided not to because I figured it would be elbow to elbow people looking for ARs etc. I'm glad to hear I didn't miss any good Dan Wesson deals anyway.

What 30 round magazines? I don't own any 30 round magazines! I've never owned 30 round magazines! If I ever had owned 30 round magazines, they would have been lost in a tragic boating accident! If I had ever owned a boat, it was lost in a hurricane!
Got It? GOOD!

The gun show here in Reno was pretty bad. All the high cap mags had sky rocketed in price. There were plenty available, but 30 rd mags for just about ANYTHING were at least $30. PMags were $40-60 for what I saw. 20 rd aluminum mags for HK91/G3/CETME rifles were $30-40. These were $1.97 each 2 months ago.
The cheapest stripped lower for an AR that I could find was $500. Several were marked at $650. I don't know if any were actually selling at those prices, but it was an unsettling sight to see.
Oh, and I have yet to see a Dan at a show here.

$40-60 for PMags? If I had ever owned any 30rd PMags, they would probably have been about $16.
I do know someone that bought a gorgeous new Yankee Hill Machine assembled lower for $200 not so long ago. If you have never seen YHM stuff, it's beautifully machined and the finish is flawless.

A smart person would have seen this coming since the last buy n grab from last election
when you couldn't find crap for ammo on the shelves for almost a year in 08/09.
A smart person would have layed back on the Dans and bought Ak's an Ar's and horded
mags and 30,ooo rounds of ammo in various calibers.
But what do I know, I'm a dummy and I sold all my guns and stuff and now
collect moon rocks for a hobbie .

Good morning
Just have to look at GB or anyother sales site. People are so predictable. Little preparation, then knee jerk reaction.
But the real sadness I see are those who take advantage of the situation. Profits, bottom line, get rich and stick it to them. Looks to me the average American gun dealer is no better than the crooks that keep getting electing. Makes me wonder who is the worse enemy to our country.
