Well took a few days off and took the bride to the mountains. There happened to be a gun show in town so made a quick stop. The show itself was fairly lame but oh well it still is a gun show. There was one DW to be found. A model 14 in the original box with papers and tool. Good shape and according to the seller had never been fired. He said the turn ring and shinny spot on the end of the shroud was from spending its life in the box. (Yea right)! Honestly it looked to be in good shape but I not stupid enough to believe that story. Unfortunately the listed price was high enough I did not even make an offer. Any way it was nice to see a different set of sellers from a different circuit.

Was this the one in Elijay? I once looked at a Smith M-25 at a large dealer in Butler, Ga ( I know, Butler, large, oxymoronic) that was new, but with a severe turn ring. Doesn't explain wear on the barrel…frown I suppose the Smith had seen a lot of handling from lookers and few buyers.

Eastman does the shows in this part of the state, and if the local one (Macon), was any indication they're also pretty lame.

Had a couple shows in the state last weekend ended up with a 744 Monson and 15-2 in the box.   Neither a steal. better prices than seeing on line lately!   A big show coming up the 11th here will pick both up then and hope nothing else shows up!

At your next show, Dave, keep an eye out for a BA715VH any length for me.

I tried to get Eric to make me one like yours only stainless, 6-inch, with 3 slots and the 1/2 to 3/4 inch chamfer at the frame end (like the Action Cup BA's), but he declined.frown

If you find anything reasonable I'll take it off your hands.

No not Elijay, Clayton. Not sure who the organizer was. We usually get Gun Runners around home and it is usually lame. Eastman is coming soon. Not sure if I will make the show or not though.

I will keep a watchful eye out Mike!

I found one in an old gun shop years ago, he had forgotten about Dans.  Just a lonely  715 LV BA in the box!

I went to the Salem Gun Show this past weekend and the only Dan was a 15-2 that was on sale for $460.  My uncle and I didn't pickup anything...

It was however my little boy's first trip to a gun show and he was making friends as we made our way down the isles.  The dealer at the first table had coins along with guns and gave Nathan a $1 Grover Cleveland coin which got deposited in his piggy bank when we got home.   As you can see from the photo below by the time we made it through the entire show my little buddy was tired and decided it was time for a nap.

While we didn't find anything it was a nice outing!

'Little Man' looks to have been having a good time by that smile. Guess he got bored when you came to a 'tupperware' table and went to sleep.

It's amazing how much junk is at gun shows these days!  Sometimes I think there's more than 50% non-firearms related tables!

I have not been to a show this year at all, but last year I was able to go the spring show in Louisville and they had so much stuff non-gun as you said, that it was almost a waste of time and so crowded within an hour of opening you could barely move around.

Not exactly a Gun Show comment, but over the past year our largest local gun store has become much more accessory oriented, just to fill up space. Safes like crazy, and as ammunition became more available, the floor space has started to include pallets of ammunition.

This same floor space used to be lined with racks for used rifles and shotguns, you could almost always find a bunch of AR's, new and used here.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Sounds like folks are hording up ammo and guns!  Based on what you have said about CT gun laws I would be hording them up there as well!

A little off topic but we have a large LGS that started carrying CZ and Dan Wesson pistols.  I called them and asked if they could get me a price on the new Guardian in 38 Super and the gun room guy tells me 'they don't do custom orders'.  Custom order?  Its a production gun, all I wanted was a price and if competitive, I'd have bought one up front and waited for delivery.  It would be a canned sale.  Why would they turn that down?  Guess I'll have to go to Gunbroker or Bud's.

Now back to our regularly scheduled topic. :)

Scorpio was it Trop's? They have a great inventory on hand but it has always been my experience with them that they show no interest in even attempting to order anything in for you. They always try to steer you toward something they already have. Most of their counter guys are very knowledgeable about Glocks and LCPs. My favorite LGS is just a small guy but he is more than willing to try to get in anything you ask for. Unfortunately since he is small he is low on the food chain and doesn't have the leverage with suppliers like the bigger guys.

Yep, its Trops.  They showed no interest in a 'special order'.  If I'd asked for an ambi safety or a mag well, maybe I could see that being special order, but all I wanted was a stock model they didn't have in stock.  Guess I'll let my FFL try and order one and see what happens.

Lima, Ohio - Tri State Gun Collectors - estimated 300-400 tables.

A nice show, four buildings at the Allen County fair grounds just a short distance east from the exit on I-75.

From the DW perspective I have had good success with scope mounts, rings, grips, and other accessories including DW paperwork. Most recent find/purchase was a blue B-Square for $15. They also had rings for my HP project but I elected to go NIB because of the small $$ differential.

Overall a much broader selection than my interests but I have made a few major purchases as some very reasonable prices in the past.

I like the larger shows because it seems to make your driving time more worthwhile.

Cleveland, Ohio - OGCA at the I-X center near the airport - estimated 800 tables.

A VERY nice show with representation by Winchester, Marlin, High Standard and a few other manufacturers.

Big venue, lots of space, lots of aisle space which makes it very easy to get around.

DW notables: Model 15 standard barrel pistol pack set, .357 with Palmer barrels, .44 with two tubes, and a .357 maximum with very little wear to the top strap for a LOW price.

This was my first trip to the I-X for a gun show, I really like the size and variety. Definitely worth a visit!
