Took off to Augusta to the gun show today. Expected it to be crowded. Arrived to find a line over 400 yards long just to get in, probably several hours wait. (Negative) I kept right on driving. Thought to not waste the trip I detoured the route home (approximately 50 miles out of the way)  to a gun store that had been doing a lot of advertising in the area to be the place to get all the shooting stuff anyone could imagine. Arrived to find the store who's show room is about the same size as my kitchen. Not a bad little store but nothing like it was advertised to be. It was so crowded I only stayed a few minutes.  Headed for home and for a last chance stopped at a little store that had recently opened near home only to find they had closed 10 minutes earlier. I guess it just wasen't my day to  see any cool guns.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

LB, if it was the like the Gun Show here Ammo was running out the door as fast as they would put it out.   223 at around .95 a round, not sure on 308, no 22lr any where expect at 40 a brick non name brand.   Crazy days, a couple 15-2's at over 400 just the Dan not any extras!

Plus side picked up a couple sets of Buehler rings for a good price 1" (code 8), a crate of 7.63x54r, a 422 mag,  so all in all not a bad show here!    10 bucks to get you in both days.

Spoke with a couple Ammo dealers said they brought everything they had and could get, said trouble resupplying.  So keep it if you got it!

Alot of folks out today, may haed back over tomorrow just to see what might have shown up!

Stopped by the biggest LGS in the Hartford, CT area.

Waiting line to get onto the parking area, struggle to get a parking space.

There are actually a couple of Mini 14's available, no AR's.

A couple of oddball powder/primer choices.

Surprisingly, there are four Ruger SR1911 Commanders for less than $700, not much price gouging here. If I did not have a new (to me) Springfield Commander, I'd have jumped on one.

The BEST part of this visit was that many of the guys that were waiting for NICS checks had some VERY hot girlfriends with them (yes, I'm a PIG), not many guns but still entertaining.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I've tried the last 2 shows in Ft. Worth. Can't even get close. One of them even had traffic backing up on the eway to get just to exit.

Not a total loss. Lot's of nice bars and pubs in the area. occasion

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?

I've skipped the last couple of shows in my area... just can't bring myself to fit the lines!
