I was at a local gun show this weekend. I was there almost 3 hours, looked everything over. Long guns, revolvers, pistols, old and new. I did not see one Dan Wesson revolver. Not even a barrel or shroud. There was not much there for revolvers period compared to the old days. I heard a dealer say revolver prices are way down right now. You sure would not think so looking at their prices on the internet. I picked up a 45acp SW revolver a few months back. I got it for a good price, now I think I know why. It definitely is not a long barrel revolver market. I saw one Super Blackhawk with a 7 1/2” barrel. Everything else 4” or shorter.

Yes, we seem to be living in an autoloading pistol dominated environment these days. Revolvers are still with us, but they are not in the mainstream anymore. Law enforcement no longer uses them except for back-up, so it's basically the big game hunters and occasional IHMSA shooters who are keeping the market alive at all even though many of these folks have switched over to using single shot pistols (scoped usually). Target shooters still use them occasionally and of course the cowboy action shooters do, but concealed carry is dominated by autoloaders, and any revolvers still chosen for this endeavor are very short barreled guns.

I've been to many gun shows in the past few years and have NEVER seen a Dan Wesson revolver for sale. I'm glad to have the one I own, and also realize that finding replacement parts is strictly an internet proposition. Thank goodness for the DWF where I can seek help with my sometimes problematic Dan by talking to some very nice folks who are also very knowledgeable about these rather unique revolvers!

I usually see a few at the local shows, usually the same clapped out over priced guns making the gypsy road show rounds to all of the shows.  Once in a while I find a nice one but they are getting harder to find.  The internet has made them expensive and scarce.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
