Went to the local fire hall today for a small show. I walked out with a used small frame wood grip with diamond pattern for $5 and a 4" 357 BA for a 15-2 standard underlug and no vent. Came in factory brown box with instruction booklet and gap gage for $125. Obviously used but in nice shape with sharp rifeling.
Picked up some 40 s&w ammo cheap too. All in all a decent trip.
Upon further examination, I think this may be a model 14-2 BA. The front sight blade is all black and the rib at the muzzel is higher than the rest of the rib. Has recessed barrel nut in nice shape.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

In CT we have an online system that gunshops use to run buyers thru the State (and NICS). For some reason, I am always a "deny" online, then they call it in and get an approval. If you have a common name like Joe Smith then you will tend to get delayed more then someone with a name like Casper Weingarten (made up name) or something a bit more unusual. That is why the Feds set up the unique identification system. Then your name and address and such are tied specifically to that ID so there is less confusion that you are actually you.

Actually, my last name has a less common spelling. My son has the same problem, it is rumored that there is a repeat offender felon in CA with exactly the same last name spelling, and that may be introducing a speedbump into our NICS checks. It always gets resolved quickly, but who knows? Big Brother does not nave to explain anything to us.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yep - sounds like you picked up a 14-2 BA. The finish on the 14-2's is also usually a satin blue - duller than the polished 15-2. Wasn't a bad price anyway - you can either tuck it away for when a 14-2 populates your collection or pass it down the road to the mod. 14 aficionados out there.

Nice buy on the .22. A .22 with 2 brls. in any condition is well worth that price. Since you're Central FL. I assume you were at either the Lakeland or Plant City show.
I still stand by my original premise though.......not my cup of tea anymore.

Harly nailed it, its a 14-2 BA as it does have a satin blue finish. Never hurts to have extra BAs around, never know when you need one to trade.
