Pardon the rant ahead of time. I have had to deal with Gunbroker support people regarding 2 issues, just this last week and about 6 months ago. Maybe it is me, but it seems like they have a "holier than thou" attitude. How have other peoples experience been with GB support people?
Maybe the subject is sensitive to them. After I had registered with GB back about 6 months ago, I once logged into GB while I was running Anonymizer software. Within a few hours my account was suspended. When I asked them why, they indicated that Anonymous logins are not allowed. I responded that I didn't know that (i don't think it was in their Terms of Service?) and that I will try and not do that again. I also mentioned that, if that was the case, why don't they just prevent the login when they detect people running on an anonymous proxy server, like my bank accounts do. However, I literally felt like I had to beg them to re-instate my account.
Anyways, this last Wednesday, I accidently logged into GB while surfing anonyously again (didn't realize I did that at the time). When I saw my account was suspended, I asked GB support what happened, and the support person reponded that I have had prior warnings about logging in anonymously (6 months ago?) and that was my account was suspended. That was the extent of the message. Nothing additional, such as: you're suspended for a week, or you are terminated (those two terms are different in their terms of service), or anything else. They just left me hanging. I responded it was an accident, last time it happened was 6 months ago, can you un suspend me again, banks don't seem to have a problem handling this issue, etc, etc, etc... I even offered to put a credit card on file, since I know I will probably accidently do this again in the future. Still no response.
Any opinions? Anybody have a better email to send complaints to? Steven Urvan's email (GB's CEO/CTO) would be great. I'd like to tell him he may be losing registered users because of his support staff (it's a real simple fix to pervent logging in if you are on an anonymous server) or they could be more responsive about the issue.
All opinions welcomed/requested. This is really frustrating. I was watching that 44 Hunter pack . Not that I could afford it right now....
Well, at least this may curb my DWAS somewhat now,

I'm not sure how to get around that. I haven't had any problems with them myself, but I also don't use an anonymizer software & I have a CC on file with them.
It sounds like they may just have their "bad guy-hacker types" defences up & don't want to hear any stories...because the hackers probably give them all sorts of stories.

Charger, that is what I figure. But I don't think a hacker would spend more than $1,000 in 6 months (I told them to look it up).
DWA_Midwest, I did send them 2 emails explaining what I just said above, and also asked if they wanted me to put a CC on file. Zero responses.... When you said send an email, do you have an actual email address? I have to send everything through their support web page...
I think I will try and start a new "issue". See if somebody else gets it and turns me back on...

Yea,
I started a new issue, said that my old one was only responded to once and that I would like to get re-activated. Stated I wasn't a hacker, just check that I had spent all this money in last 6 months. The person who responded to my new issue re-activated me right away but warned that they may not be able to keep trying to re-activate me.... Sounds like it may be who you get...
