Happy Fourth of July to one and all!
Important time for us to remember that for all it's faults and challenges America is the greatest Nation on earth. Our citizens and leaders challenge us constantly, we feel under attack and unloved, and we find many things not right here.
I couldn't possibly exist anywhere else

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Happy belated Independence Day wishes.
I agree that in spite of our country's faults & some events currently happening to attempt running us off the road, this is still the greatest country on the big blue marble!
I hope some of you were able to exercise your 2nd amendment rights, by sending some lead flying downrange. I wasn't able to, but hope to today. Good lookin' flag, IHMSA.

Happy belated 4th to the DWF.
I spent my fourth at the Austin, TX Tea Party - among other things - . Approx. 3 hour event and boy was it warm...a little over 105 all afternoon. Too many speakers but many good things said.
TX GovernorRick Perry, Senator John Cornyn and Rep. Louie Gohmert and Wayne Allen Rouch (sp?) were the "professional politicians" that spoke.
Pro politicians are not what the Tea Party's are about, but Rep. Louie Gohmert is an old timer Texan and has a great handle on what is going on in Washington. He voted against all the TARPs and Porkulus and kept referring to the Cap & Trade bill as "Crap and Trade". He said anyone who read these bills would never vote for them - hence the double whammy...they are NOT being read, and they are being voted in on a sales pitch / crisis / party majority...
Cornyn was almost booed from/ shouted down off the podium (which isn't right, IMHO) - but he voted for TARP1 and everyone there knew it.
I was about 15 feet from Gov. Perry when he was speaking and he is an excellent speaker and was fired up.
Wayne Allen Rouch - "my friends call me WAR..." - what a character...he was the Libertarian VP candidate.
There are some great things going on and I will post some more about it over in the Legislation section.
Last thought: Robert Morrison, who is an evangelical missionary and does much work in and with Cuba said in essence: What you are hearing from the Obama administration is straight socialist dogma - I've seen & heard it before - they are just masquerading it as something else and this country needs to wake up and act quickly...
