Happy Independence Day to all the DWF Brothers.
At this moment in time we have two American Heroes in the House
Andrew (Freerider04) is home for several weeks on leave for PCS to NC, and our nephew Bill (USCGWO) is transitioning his Cutter from the Great Lakes to Baltimore for a major drydock evolution. It's very fitting that they are in Boston Harbor for Independence Day, he and our neice Erin are spending time with us.
Not many things in this life than being in Boston for Independence Day, I envy them.
(edit to add: Erin is the daughter of my Brother In Law Bill, Retired USN CMC, and COB of USS Tennessee)
I feel a little inadequate around these people
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

You shouldn't feel inadequate. You raised two good smart hard working kids. One a successful woman in a male dominated field who is a loving daughter and good mother. The other is one of those heroes you speak of.
I'm not sure how, but you managed to find the right woman......and somehow not screw it up for 40 years!
