Over time I have collected what I found to be the most beautiful handguns around (DW's). What seems to be the rarest is the 7414. From what I have read Palmer made 25 or so then Norwich made them too with very limited production.
Does anyone have any idea as to how many were made? 1st issues? SRS-1's? etc... I guess I am trying to ID the "holly grail" of DW's and then set my sights on it.
Thanks!
The holy grail of DW Collecting is somewhat subjective. For me the 745 was my holy grail but the 7414 is for many. I recently sold my 7414 1st Issue Norwich to a member here.
Here is what we know as far as production numbers:
Monson: 2 414's prototypes with an experimental notated serial number.
Palmer: 25 7414's
Norwich: We're guessing around 100-150 and I would imagine the SRS1 would be no more than 30 or so.
So the 7414's are around but be ready to open up your wallet if you have to hit the auction sites for one.
Hope this helps,
Jody
