My wife and I were having dinner with a married couple that are good friends of ours.
The husband is a good shooting buddy and his wife is an MD. The conversation turned to CCW. My buddy had just gotten his. His wife was saying how a few of the nurses at her medical center were getting their CCW's also. A thought popped in my head. I asked if ever "God forbid" they were home invaded and the perp was trying to kill and rape her and her husband shot him. Would she treat the rapist ? Yes I would she replied. Her husband's jaw just dropped. Your kidding he said. She said because of her oath she is obligated. And if the rapist survived with out her treating him she could be sued and lose her license. I said "But the man just tried to rape and kill you". Does not matter she said. I looked at my buddy who was sitting there wide eyed, I laughed and said " I can hear you now, honey what are you doing? Your ruining my work." lol.
But really, can you guys imagine? What a world we live in.

I know what your saying but, Our boys in arms have been
bust'n them up and fix'in them up for years, kinda on the
same lines, without the rape of course.

Size does matter! Where is the justice in being taken to court because you shot someone that posed harm to you or yours. Yes size of gun does matter. cuts down on law suites.

Before anyone gets too heated up about this (I do agree that faced with the situation I'd shoot to kill not wound) you might want to read the article at the link below. I found this enlightening to say the least.
I do understand about the medical oath. I's my understanding that the oath requires anyone who takes it to give medical aid if at all possible.
