Was at Walmart grabbing some meds for my daughter and figured I'd check out the ammo section just in case...Glad I did, it was like striking gold!

Grabbed the last box of 45 and a couple of .22s. There were still some .22s left for the next guy. Probably gone by now but yay! Time for some shooting range-time

You sure did!  I think this is the first time in history there's been a serious shortage of .22lr!

Crazy, the ammo hoarders must have gotten filled up!  Last time I looked at Wally World 32 auto was all they had in hand gun ammo!

Things need to move back to normal!

Nice that you left some for the next person, and I am with Harly never in my lifetime have I seen 22 shortage!

I was  in Billings MT last week when they carted in 14 cartons of 8 eacj 1 lb containers of powder. None I wanted but I looked through it all. I believe that the shortfalls are about to reverse albeit slowly.

well, this "shortage" has certainly put the value of .22s in perspective I guess. I know I'm a lot more conservative with these things than I used to be.

It's good to hear that not everywhere is like here. After the 08 election bulk 22 ammo disappeared from most retail shelves due to hoarding. It was 2010 before I saw a brick of 22's on the shelf and then they didn't last very long. After the CT shooting virtually all ammo except shotgun shells and some of the more obscure rifle rounds have disappeared.  I hear that they come in, but rarely make it past the store room, or if they do make it to the counter the retired crowd ( I don't blame them) are waiting to scarf them up as they have figured out the delivery schedules.  I don't expect to see any normal amounts of ammo on the shelves for years around here. I have a fair supply of components to load and a decent supply of calibers I don't load. But I am reluctant to use them as to the uncertain future. mad

Went to a gun show a week or so back and they had bricks of 22's for $100.00. I passed.

Lucky for me I have kids -- we have a large stockpile of 22 bricks at all times.  Ammo is nowhere out here.  Good thing we reload all the time and have ammo ready to go.
