This has been a great week for me as far as DW items go... I just picked this up late last night,
Dan Wesson
Complete Barrel w/ sight
Stainless Steel
10" Barrel
Exc. Cond..
$150.00
A New 8" Barrel costs $275.00
Stopped making the 10" Barrel
Now I'm going to have to build a new PP to accommodate the 10" barrel!

This is the first I've heard on one of those. Is it made in the US, or somewhere else? Looks like it could be fun, as long as it's not a jamb-o-matic.
Nope, these are US made right here in Boulder, CO. They were big in the 80's and excellent quality--those are 20 rd mags BTW. I can hardly wait to break it in.

OK, the barrel showed up today–10″, SS, .357, Vented. No dings, just needs a good cleaning and a nicer nut (slip marks from wrench). Odd thing is the only marking on the shroud is – 357 MAGNUM CTG. – (and it is stamped kind of crooked) Old style markings, not the newer etching.
No Dan Wesson, no Monson or Palmer, nothing. Did I get the “generic” DW shroud?Possibly a transition period between facilities? I'll take a pic and edit this post tonight.

I believe that could be either a Monson or Palmer. As far as I know they didn't put the place of manufacture on the shrouds. Some have Dan Wesson Arms stamped above the caliber and some don't. I believe all or at least most Norwich guns have laser markings. I kind of wish they had'nt marked the shrouds at all, as many interchange it would be easier to find a full collection. I guess I'm just nuts though. This will just be another puzzle for us to ponder on as we continue to create the most knowledgeable DW site there is.
Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Most, if not all of the Palmer gun pics I've seen have been roll marked that way. The Monson guns have Dan Wesson above the caliber designation. Both my FB guns are that way. That's odd that it's crooked, though...maybe that's one of the quality control issues that is talked about now & then?
