This is for some of you seasoned gunners. What guns that you have owned, handled and shot that just felt at home in your hand. The ones I have always liked are the Smith and Wesson K frame round butt, Colt Python, Colt SAA , Smith and Wesson 4516-1 with Hogue curved hardwood grips and my absolute favorite my Dan Wesson model 15 with the Sacramento grip and 4 inch VH barrel assembly. What are some of yours.

I would have to say that my 15-2 with an 8" VH barrel and my original club-sized grip just fits me well. The thing feels perfect, it shoots like a laser, and I compare all other comfort of grip on this revolver.
For semis - it would be my Ruger MKIII Hunter with custom large grips to fit my big hands. That thing is also a laser and I can easily shoot it single handed with both hands.
I fight my 1911s for grip and sights every time compared to these two listed above.

I believe the Sacramento grips were mostly walnut...in my short time collecting I have seen nothing else. And the shape is pretty much rounded all over without checkering, finger grooves, thumb rests, or any sharp lines...just smooth.
My favorite auto is a Colt Match Target w/4 inch barrel.
My favorite wheelgun is any Dan I own with LB Special grips.

Y'all can laugh if you like, for a guy who builds grips, what "just feels right" my 15-2VH4 with Pachmayr Presentation grips.LB
I have always preferred the Gripper for 15-2 4 VH, for any sustained shooting. Otherwise, they wear a variety wood grips, mostly from "he whose name shall not be mentioned"!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

K-frame Smith and Wesson with a 4" barrel (model 66) or
1911 with slim grips, undercut trigger guard and Ed Brown style bobtail (Dan Wesson V-bob)
If you are considering long guns also, I will add Remington 760 or 7600 pump action rifles, they just come up and point well, they just seem to fit me.

My opinion... ... you are absolutely correct.
When I purchased my first revolver, many years ago, I probably handled a few hundred long and medium barreled in many calibers and made by many manufacturers. My first purchase was a Dan Wesson 15-2 VH8. I thought it was the very best fit for me and I loved it. Hind sight....!

Always an interesting topic. For me, there are some guns I can shoot with good accuracy from the first shot, and others that I really struggle with. Here are some of my impressions:
1. Without a doubt, if my life depended upon my accuracy with a handgun, any of my Browning Buckmarks would be my first choice. I’m not a great marksman, but the Buckmark makes me look good, especially one that I have customized with a TacSol barrel.
2. A close 2nd are revolvers such as my 715’s and S&W 686’s, with honorable mention to my MR73 which is like the French say, “hors categorie”. I love them all.
3. Next would be 1911’s, which just seem natural to me, having grown up with SAO. Call me odd, but my Kimber Ultra CDP II is really natural and accurate in my hands; some other 1911’s less so.
4. Almost anything from CZ, such as the SP-01 and similar.
5. Many of the Combloc guns are natural, too, especially Makarov’s and CZ 82s.
Guns that I have tried hard, really hard, to like but that I struggle with include HK (several), FNH products such as the 5.7, and Kahr.

Same here! I tried quite a few grips on mine and couldn't beat the feel of the original target stocks that came with it.
Surprisingly, the semi-automatic that just feels right to me is Polymer 80's PF940c. My hand seems to fit it just right, the stippling really keeps it stuck to my hand, and the 1911 grip angle points perfectly.

When I bought my 715 back in '06 for the whopping price of $269 (My all time gunbroker score), it came with the normal DW grips, a set of rubber grips, and a set of the Houge finger grooved wood grips. I had the "Sacramento" grips back in the 80's and like all the grips I've tried, even a custom one I had made in the '70's for too much money, I went back to the normal target grips. Totally the opposite of what I do with the S&W guns, I seem to hate the stock ones, especially the infamous "Cheese Grater" grips and I really don't like the "Coke Bottle" ones all that much. I either end up with rubber or smooth wood aftermarket, like on my recently bought 46 year old 28:
