So you run in the house to arm yourself; but you can't get to the master safe with all the DW's in it, because a Zombie is already blocking your path.
So what would it be--your second choice...? NO DW's !!! You get one handgun and one long gun...
Mine would have to be my Star 30M 9mm pistol for the handgun.... For the rifle I'd be torn between my Marlin camp 9, or the Mini-14...

Ok, couldn't make just one decision, so I gave myself three options.
Option #1
Nothing like common calibers. So we have gone the FN route and chose a FiveSeven pistol and PS90 rifle. Both are excellent for CQB.
Option #2
A home built AR in 6.8 SPC caliber and backing it up a Sig 1911.
Option #3
A well prepared Zombie killer should never let them get close. So, I'll sit on the roof with my EDM Arms Windrunner 50 BMG and go nuts. Until my shoulder gives out. We have the Mossberg 500 just for the unlikely chance one of those sneaky devils gets too close.

For me, it'd be my XD .45acp and Marlin 336 in .30-30.
Now, if I were sitting on the roof with a cooler of beer, my 10/22 would be good for sport, making headshots on the milling zombie horde.
Wouldn't it be great if all wars could be fought just by the a-holes who started them?

Talk about some moving sihoutte's.LOL I would go with the roof and a cooler full of beer and the 10/22 would make it pretty sporting in my opinion. But the Mosseberg stays near the hand while at home. Best home defense that money can buy in my opione there is a couple of them around. But I would like to try out the Cetme!

Good morning
The Kel-Tec SUB 2000 40 S&W hangs on a clip near the back door with 45 rounds in magazines. Even Zoombies would figure out the growing stack of tissue at the entrance meant "Go somewhere else". If not Louder noise is real handy.
As much as I like DW revolvers... they are not part of the inicial contact plan.

WAY TOO EASY
S&W Model 59 14+1 of 9mm Winchester Ranger +P's (of course, all 5 extra mags are always loaded)
Right now I can "borrow" a nice shorty AR real easily, after my gunsmith gets home I will have my own AR.
Update to my ZPP (Zombie Preparedness Plan): I picked up a Mini 14 today, with a Bushnell 3-9x scope. Just until my AR is done early next summer, then I (maybe) sell the Mini 14. Maybe not, because I've wanted one for years. If it turns out to be a good shooter I could always keep it

OK, since the Zombies might rise before my AR is ready, I picked up an interim solution, something I've always wanted, a Mini 14. I think Ruger got it pretty much right with the Mini 14, and now I have one, with a pretty generic Burris 3-9 variable, and I'm buying one 20 rd mag a week until H-E-double hockeysticks freezes over.

Well I would grab the Ruger P95 with 2 15 round mags full of +P Corbon in the night stand, and then take two steps and grab the old sawed off Coast to Coast (Savage) 12 gauge with the tactical flashlight and 5 rounds of 00 BUCK!!! behind the bedroom door. Better hope the dogs get to him before I do...LOL

I guess I'd be remiss in leaving out the other forum I belong to (and where I usually hang out anyway)
The whole idea there is that zombies are a metaphor for all sorts of disasters and emergencies. Here in the
mid-south, our zombies are tornadoes, floods, and a potential New Madrid quake.
It's also a fun tongue-in-cheek way of talking about preparedness without the negative connotations
a bunch of folks like to bring up.
