Went looking for some ammo and the case was fairly empty. The clerk got my ammo out and said 'better get while you can, I can't get any more ammo or guns'. He said he ordered guns and ammo and the order was canceled by management. He said he thinks they are going to phase out gun and ammo sales due to some deal with the current administration.
I don't know how much this guy actually knows but this doesn't sound good to me.

Well I just wont have any reason at all to shop at Walmart anymore. That's interesting, the Walmart here hasnt had firearms for a few years, just ammo, but I was in a Walmart in western PA in a more rural area, they still had shotguns, 22s, deer rifles and alll kinds of hunting apparel. I think the Sporting goods dep. and Steelers wear took up 1/3 the store.

This is a super Walmart and they do sell ARs, had a nice Colt for $1100 and change. The department manager seemed upset that his order was canceled, he told me that guns and ammo are the biggest profit items in the sporting goods section.
I don't shop Walmart that often, but they are usually the cheapest on ammo like 45, 357 and 9mm. I just found his comments about a corporate deal with the White House to be interesting if not troubling.

Walmart has gone through several phases of either selling guns or not selling guns and their policies are different depending on location. I'd just look around for another place to buy ammo., and I don't think it would be Dicks. They're the most expensive for everything!.

There are about 3500 Walmart/Walmart Super Centers in the US. It's unlikely that a clerk in one of those stores has a pipeline into the White House.
But, maybe this guy can read the handwriting on the wall. Barak Hussein is after the guns, always has been, and maybe he can cool down some of Walmart's labor/union issues in return for shutting off the guns and ammo in America's biggest retailer.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I purchased 200 rounds of my usual Winchester USA "value" ammunition today at Walmart.
They were about as poorly stocked as they always are there. Some calibers they had a good quantity of while others were pretty depleted, which is pretty much my standard Walmart shopping experience. I was surprised they actually had what I wanted this time. I have since learned to buy what I need ahead of time, long before any last minute range trips. Walmart has let me down far too often on Saturday, or Sunday morning.
I see rifles for sale at Walmart, but I will never buy a gun there even if the price is amazing. I only purchase bulk ammunition at Walmart, and frankly I feel a little dirty afterwards.
While I was in the store, I asked the clerk if there was anything new or interesting going on in the sporting Goods dept regarding their ammunition, or new store policies. Nothing was mentioned, so I bought my ammo, and moved on.
I have a love-hate relationship with Walmart. I love the price on ammunition when it's actually in stock... But I hate going there, as it's usually a wasted trip. They do not restock often enough, and rarely have what I want in stock when I get there. If their prices on ammo were not so darn good, I would have written them off long ago.
I really like to be able to support the smaller mom and pop shops, when I can. I try to do with purchases when ever possible. If I could have found what I wanted at an economical price any place else, I would have skipped going to Walmart completely.
Just relating my experience at a Nevada Walmart today, your experiences may be completely different than mine. (and here's hoping that they are much better)

Plenty of ammo and rifle/ shot guns at the store nearest me! I keep asking where the 550 packs of Rem 22 went to.... so settle for 225 packs and the ole value packs of 45's, 9's, 38+p's jhp....... all in stock (at least this trip).. what would be intersting also is pricing on the above mentioned and or other cal's. 225 pack rem 22's $9.25!
