Well! I was shooting my .445/Palmer/Compensated DW.  I kept adjusting the elevation screw on the rear sight to raise it up. Those 300 gr bullets drop like a rock. Well that massive recoil sent it into outer space I guess.

I know some Ruger sights fit the small frame DW. I don't know what would fit the Lg. frame DW. Numrich doesn't have them. Not sure about CZ. I'll call their parts dept. tomorrow.  I left Eric a message to see if he knows where to get one. Maybe one of you guys have an idea? Thanks, Gary

I put one for a Ruger Blackhawk on my 357SM.  Fit perfect.  About $17 from Brownell's.

I'm gonna try the Ruger rear soon. Frankly, I think it looks nicer, and the DW rear is kind of "clunky".

This may be heresy here, but not everything on DW's as good as it could be (OK guys open fire, I can take it embarassed)

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Blasphemy!

Seriously I believe if I were in the market for a new rear site I would check out the offerings from Bowen Classic Arms.  They offer a couple of different options:

Target-Style Adjustable Rear Sight

Rough Country Sight

These aren't cheap but I'm betting they're quality products!  The Rough Country sight looks pretty cool in my opinion.

Yep! Those Ruger rear sights are nice at 80.00. I just want the screw for mine right now.  LOL!

I guess in the meantime I can take the screw out of my .44 mag.

I have the target version and it is very much like the old Bomar sights.

Thanks Ranger.  Interesting that you switched from a Ruger to the Bowen.  Why?  (I'll probably spring for the Bowen eventually.  The Ruger emblem looks a little funny on a DW but it is still a good sight.)

The previous owner sent the gun to bowen and had the trigger smoothed up and the rear sight replaced.  He was a fellow shilouette shooter and was using the blackhawk 357 for field pistol but decided he wanted to concentrate on his 44s for hunting.  If I buy anymore blackhawks I would spend the money for the Bowen sight because it is worth the money in my estimation. cool

Well,  I called CZ-Dan Wesson rep Ginny. I ordered 2 screw for the rear elevation  sight [5.00 a piece] and I ordered 1 rear elevation screw for my 15-2 just in case. You never know what's going to happen. I have never lost an elevation screw like that before. I guess because I have never shot a .445 Super Mag before. I would hate to shoot it without a compensator. I wish they made that screw a little longer.  Note: my .44 Mag screw fit, but my .41 Mag screw would not fit the .445.

I know we were talking about the Ruger sights. Does Ruger make any sights that fit the Large frame DW?

Interesting that the screw from the 44 fit while not from the 41.

I've got the Ruger sight on my 740 so I want to say it will fit but after your problem with the 44 vs 41 screws , I'm not so sure.  Wish I had the cash to buy a 44 and a 7445 to find out.   ( dwas  The spirit is willing but the wallet and my wife aren't.  laugh)

I don't know for sure but Ibelieve that some DW's came from the factory with Millet sights and some with DW sights. This "might" explain the difference in screws.

My  .41 Mag has a 4 digit serial number, so I think it's an older version. It's too small for the .44 mag. I don't know if the later version of the .41 had a different sight or not.

I ordered 2 Lg frame rear sight screws and 1 small frame rear sight screw from CZ. They came in today and I was glad to put one in my 445. I have 2 spares now. They cost 5.00 a piece and the S/H was 9.00. Fed-Ex brought them. The .44 and .445 are looking good together now.
