Shooting in Vegas at concert on the strip. 50 dead so far and 400 wounded.  Details still coming.  Prayers for the victims and families.

Listening to the reports on the radio of the audio on scene, a couple news reporters were saying that "it may be an automatic rifle"...ya think? screwy And then "short 7 second gaps between firing, not sure why". screwy Certainly it's not because he was reloading, you putz.slap

It's an absolutely horrendous thing, what a damned coward that guy was!! I feel terrible for the families of all the victims.

Like most of America, I am stunned on this one...WHY ?  Having fun at a concert one minute , then tragedy. It didnt take long for Hillary  to bring in the NRA in on this. Everyone else is concerned for the victims and their families.

I dont understand...........................cry

I hope they discover that this guy was also a Bernie supporter. Or even better, Hillary.

Without much knowledge of this, my guess is that this shooter was probably not legally eligible to own the weapon(s) used due to mental defect. The latest "control" that I have heard of is having Hotel's/ Motels be required to be equipped with metal detectors through which patrons luggage will be screened.

Motel Six with metal detectors? Really?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

How are they going to handle the SHOT show?  Seems like a lot of folks will be packing iron during that event.

I wonder if there will be a brain autopsy?  I'm wondering if this guy had some kind of tumor that caused him to 'snap'.  From his brother's account, there was no reason for him to do what he did.  It was obviously well planned and premeditated so it was not a spur of the moment thing.

I woke up with the TV on at 3 AM and heard the long burst of automatic fire. From the sound and the cycling rate, I thought it was probably a .30 cal or an AK on full auto.  An AR would have had a higher rate of fire I should imagine.  IF he was using FMJ ammo, he could have conceivably hit several people with each round.   What a horrible situation for those poor folks in the crowd, they were sitting ducks and he couldn't miss.  I'm actually amazed that the death toll wasn't higher due to the density of that crowd and the volume of fire he poured into it.  Too bad he killed himself, now we may never know WHY he did such a terrible thing.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

This was a tragedy of the first magnitude.

Given the carnage, the fish-in-a-barrel scenario, and the seemingly endless number of wounded, I expect that this event will be the largest single source of PTSD in our history. Attendees, first responders, hospital staffers, and victims families all sucked into a madman's horror.

Anyone trying to make political hay from this sorrowful event should re-examine their reasoning... be it left/right ...red/blue ...pro/con.

"Anyone trying"? The media is leading the charge and the sheep are following, and there are one heck of a lot of sheep in this particular herd. Harder days are coming!
