I thought I would share this story with you guys just in case you have a Leupold scope. They have a lifetime warranty.
Well, I was going to adjust the vertical elevation on the scope but I couldn't get the cap off. It is an older pistol scope and it was stuck. So I used a pair of pliers and a cloth to try and unscrew it. This technique has worked in the past. I felt it break loose but it wasn't the cap. It was the turret that the cap screws onto. Needless to say, I unscrewed it. It's a sinking feeling when you can look inside the center of your scope. The scope at this time is ruined. It was cost about 300.00 to replace with a new one.
So I called Leupold up and told them my dilemma. They said, send it to us. So I did for 6.00 s/h. They gutted the scope and took it all apart and checked everything and re-calibrated and assembled it back together. A complete overhaul to a like new condition. Cost: No Charge! I was not the original owner and they never inquired about that. This scope was originally made back in 1964. I think this one was made in 68-70. After 40 years their warranty is still good. You can't beat Leupold on warranty. A couple of pics.
