i recently purchased a 375 Superman on GB. upon receiving it, i wanted to clean and go over it. Found the barrel nut all buggered up. i did all the usual tricks to remove it to no results. thought to remove the front sight. had to apply heat to remove it. guess what i found. Red loc-tite! discovered it on the barrel nut AND the barrel! Plus, the barrel/cylinder gap is .009. SOOOO, it's been sent back to DW so they can try. (prayers would be appreciated as Bob told me it may not come apart). I'm just venting here, sorry. BUT, to any new DW owners. read a bit about tensioning your barrel so you don't ruin your firearm.

O.K.! got a call from Bob this morning. He managed to get the barrel nut and the barrel loose. saved the barrel. only loss was the barrel nut. he's a miracle worker in my opinion. thought the gun was going to stay messed up. thanks everyone with suggestions, etc. do everything to preserve these firearms, they aren't making them anymore. (apart from new CZ).

Glad to hear it worked out. I know how relieved you must be as I recently bought a '81 15-2 that the seller never had the barrel off and didn't have the tool. To make matters worse the cylinder was rubbing the barrel. The owner prior to him didn't have a tool either so I was very relieved when I got the tool and the barrel came right off, no problems.

I bought a .22 LR pack off of DanFan, he had to remove a stuck barrel nut before he would sell it to me.......he knows how to work the magic without sending it in to be professionally removed.
Some times it is left to the long time collectors, they know what and how to do.

OMG - we used to call it "Dred Red". It's original name was "Bearing and Stud Mount" since it was formulated to be the strongest bond they had.
That stuff can be the kiss of death. Good luck brother.
(read a little further and see it's resolved - great news!)
