Working in Afghanistan now, made it to my Forward Operating Base (FOB) in 3 days time. I cut out all the integration classes- sometimes RHIP... Any way, connectivity here is very slow. There isn't much bandwidth to go around on the unclassified side.
Everything is going well and I have nearly all my Soldiers on the ground now. Beautiful country up here in Northern Wardak Province; too bad there's other things going on. Base is 7,300' and we operate in an area which climbs to 8,500'. Mtn peaks up to 10,500 sure are impressive.
Hope everything is well with each of you.
Ron

SMF has the snail mail addy and my work email. If you have Sailors, Soldiers, Marines or Airmen abroad, and drink coffee, here is a site that my wife and I used during the Iraq deployments :

I'm going to contact Ron soon to see if we can start tis up again:

I'm sure he'll be in a position to either get us some names/addresses, or distribute directly to people who might like getting a package.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hey men,
Everything is good so far. My "squad", actually its a Cavalry Squadron... is stepping up very well and we're getting to work. Some say that 12 months is a marathon, but they forget it is an olympic pace.
All I really need for Christmas is a 745; maybe Jody will tire of his and want to sell it??
Thanks for all the morale support!

Ron, I just spoke to one of Santa's helpers and he said those were back-ordered so you might want to pick something else. I would sell my 7414 before the 745 will leave the house.
