I recently purchased a used DW Revolver 357 mag., Blued with 6 in. vented barrel. Tag on gun said model 715.  Serial # 6 digits starting at 279.

Based on infomation in forum and model ID's I'm not sure. Is the 715 only made in stainless ? I will have the gun on Monday, I will try to submit picture.

Welcome to the DWF.   The 7 means stainless. I believe yours will be a 15-2 and we can verify once you post a picture.  Lots of good folks and info here.

Welcome to the Forum!

LB is right. 715 designates the stainless equivalent of the blued 15-2. It's common to see the misuse of the model designation.

It's very common to see used DWs not marked with the correct model number.

I picked up my DW 357 mag. last Monday. I wasn't sure of the model, it was labeled 715...I posted a brief description and members responded by saying it is probably a 15-2 and 7 indicates stainless. After reading through the forum and looking at photos, it is a15-2 with 6in. vented heavy bbl.

There's a lot of very useful information to be gained here. I'm embarassed to say I don't know how to post a picture yet, but will find out how.

Looking forward to shooting this mag next week. There is a new modern facility named Shooters World here . Largest inventory of guns I have ever seen. I think they have 19 pistol lanes and 8-10 rifle lanes ( all indoor). On site gunsmiths, parts ,training etc..

Shooter's World is awesome. My Brother in law took me there in 2012 to purchase my first guns. Got a big discount because of the famous BIL. Former 3 term Sheriff of Pasco.

Hello, DW Experts!

I am a gun enthusiast from Hungary. This week I picked up a great DW gun, but I just couldn't identify, what was I bought. Somehow, I just can't find any photo about my revolver and I also couldn't find the item in the DW product line. I post some photos taken from the pistol.

Please help me: what kind of beauty I have?

Thanks:
