Okay folks, this is a game we play on another forum, its fun, we'll see if it works well here too.
Name the caliber of the round in the picture. The one on the right is a .45 Colt 335g WFNGC for size perspective.
First to get right, well...all you get it bragging rights (so I lied on the prize, but I bet it brought a lot of you to see the post), but it allows a lot of folks to see rounds they never would have otherwise.
If you know right off hand what it is, keep your trap shut for a little while, its good fun trying to figure them out.

I can't play, because about the only thing I know about cartridges is which end goes frontwards, but I really like it when we do this.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'll give it a day or so before I start giving clues.
Yes it is real, yes it is rifle caliber, yes it is a shoulder fired caliber.
I should have put that in the original post.
Usually we keep it to guns we actually shoot or can shoot, which limits it to the 20mm and smaller.
No I have not shot it, yes I want to, yes it is in the works.

IHMSA80x80, I figured someone here would know Al and have seen it before. Give it a day or so and see if anyone can venture a guess before giving it away. I'll get to working on a new one that will be a little easier.

No, no and no. .730" is no part of the name. It is named by it's metric equiv. However, it is not a direct cross over on the bullet size as the bullet had to be made larger, slightly, to fit current available bore size.
