I can not believe the lack of holsters out there. Anyone have a RH  BLACK  6" pancake or other they would part with?  I have a 15-2.laugh  Simply Rugged is about all that is out there, even on line.

Some of those on OhNoBay looks like a 5-year old craft project…

I'm looking for one, too, for the 4V 15-2…  Just FYI, most holsters for the S&W 686 will fit the DW 15-2, if not a bit loosely.

My Galco DP2004 for my 4" 686 is working for the 4V right now, it's just a hair loose because of the lack of the barrel underlug...

A 6" pancake may be a pretty tough one to find, 6" and pancake don't match up well. If you can tolerate having 2" hanging below the holster, a 4" OWB should work and be very easy to locate.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I wasnt sure about the 6" pancake idea. I would be happy with a S+W, but I want 6" black. They just arent out there, much. E-bay is a huge pain. I do know of a like 8" .455 mag barrel if thats interesting to you guys?

4"black pancake is easy to get, I have one now. I want  6" and standard style is fine  Black matches the nice rubber grips that I found at gun show, last month. Mr. 357, are you teasing me with that comment?  laughing  I am already feeling discriminated against by the holster makers and their pandering to Glock owners lol2

I'll check the model/maker when I get home--hell, I might even post a pic !!!

There are a TON of holsters that fit DW's--you just have to do some research.

Pretty much any S&W 27/28/29 (N frame) is a good fit.  I have a few charts  from the 80's for DW's--but they will need to be dug out of the gun room 🙂

29? N frame?

Maybe 14/15/ and K/L frame would be correct for a 15-2?

This is right off a Bianchi holster bag

 "THUMBSNAP, MODEL 5BHL, FITS 6 ½" LARGE N FRAME S & W 27, 28, AND 29, AND DAN WESSON MODEL 15 .357. 10326 "

I have a few charts, I just need to find them.

Ok, had a chart on my work laptop—

If you can find a S&W branded holster… look at the stamped numbers on the back.  First number is holster style–second number is size.

For a Dan wesson small frame you need  the second number to be 24(4") or 26.(6")

Thanks for the info. I think there is something wrong here. I expected  a bunch of offers to sell.  Are you all toting around Glocks?   lol2  Are all the forum member's  DWs'  kept naked and locked away in cases?  I know the S+W or Colt holsters will probably fit. The problem is finding any in 6" and especially in black is tough. Impossible in the gunstores.  I looked on E-Bay and found a couple used and/or cheap looking.  I think that Simply Rugged and a  wait is the best bet. They do have pancakes in 6 " and molded to the gun and although not a usual style, I think the belt slots will really hold the gun from flopping around like  a regular holster would with a oversized or really oversized  single belt loop.  I am thinking a crossdraw with my DW stocked up with homemade grizzly loads for Conn. hiking.  mini-gun

I really don't think many people are carrying 6" revolvers, and this cuts into the availability of holsters. I'd be just a likely to carry a 4" .357, Hi-Cap 9mm, or a 1911, but I think for most people a 6" is just not a carry gun.

Less likely for holster manufacturers to tool up for something they might not sell a lot of.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My friend is working on a couple holsters for me right now. He said they'll be done after thanksgiving, but hopefully he'll send me some pics soon.

Well maybe we will have some holster makers come around. I have also found a guy who seems Ok. He does really good work and has a better price than anyone I have seen. So some guys will do longer revolver holsters but all are backed up.

This holster is fit to a K frame  Do you guys think that my 6HV  barrel would fit?  I think it may be too narrow. It is a Don Hume.

K and L are generally considered to be compatible with 15-2/715. Remember that leather will stretch and form to fit a slightly different configuration. I have had holsters that I have re-fit to a gun a little different that the one it was originally designed for.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
