Hey all...well, I went from never owning a DW to owning a (CZ) 6" 715, (CZ) 715 Pistol Pack and a long slide Bruin in 10mm in the space of about 90 days:). Anyway, regarding the 715s, should I use anti-seize on the barrel nut to alleviate sticking over time? Any other tips from the experienced on this forum as to maintenance specific to the DW revolvers?

Thanks in advance!

I use the gold-colored neverseize on the threads at both ends of my barrels & have never had a problem.

Matthew Quigley on handguns:

“I said I never had much use for one. Never said

I didn't know how to use it.”

Thanks for that...wouldn't have expected a need for it on the frame end of the barrel, but I suppose both ends are under equal tension...

I suppose neverseize can't hurt but I never have used it. I have very many Dans, uncobtrolled DWAS. When I get a new, old gun I Flitz, and oil them well inside and out, then wipe the oil off the outside and use carnuba wax to polish and protect. I use Flitz and then oil on the barrel threads and frame threads too. When Flitzing the threads I use a brass brush to remove rust and grime. I reassemble and when screwing in the barrel tube I screw it in all the way then back it out to the appropriate gap. I do that with the barrel nut before I mount in too. Then TIGHTEN THE NUT SNUGGLY but not overly tight. Should be good for another 40 years.

So the Flitz is something you'd only use on an older revolver to take care of any old/built up gunk in the threads? Mine are both newer stainless guns so guessing there wouldn't be a need to use it...unless you do so to remove burrs from the threads or something?
