I am pleased to announce that the Dan Wesson Forum has a new Range Officer!
SCORPIO (Chris) has agreed to join our Staff as a Range Officer. I will leave it to him to offer up his Dan Wesson and Shooting resume', as well as his other interests and hobbies.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Thanks also to Jody and Steve for the opportunity to pitch in and help out.
I'll give you some background about me. I'm a biologist by training and I now run the family enterprise, a commercial fruit orchard, wholesale/retail fruit and produce business in the central PA region. Growing up my father got me interested in hunting, fishing and shooting at a very young age. I bought my first Dan Wesson, a 15-2, 6V and 2.5V in the early 1980's while I was in college. I loved it at once, but knew very little about the company or design aside from the gun I held in my hands. I shot it regularly during the '80's but after getting married and having kids, I got out of the shooting habit for a good part of the 90's. When the kids grew up some and I had a bit more time, I started shooting a little more often. I began to get interested in Dan Wesson's again as I saw a few at local gun shows, but didn't really acquire many at that time, though i wish I had based on today's prices. Some years later I began to see the value in these guns and realized that the company was still in business and acquired some barrels, tools and misc parts from Bob Serva. I have always been a hands on mechanically oriented guy and I've always admired the industrial artistry of the Dan Wesson revolver along with their simplicity. As I was able, I acquired a few here and there.
After years of playing around, I was able to finally begin to flesh out my collection and I've acquired quite a few Dan's and would love to have one of every caliber, though that may never happen, part of the fun is in the hunt.
I did some competitive shooting while in college, but nothing serious, just sporting.
My other hobby/passion/obsession is boating, an outgrowth of the fishing. So if I seem absent a bit in the summer, I'm not gone, just absorbed in my second love, the water. Rest assured, I check the forum from the water quite often though I don't usually post as much, but will try to do better.
I love the free exchange of info and technical know how we have here on this forum along with its friendly atmosphere. Its almost unique among internet sites these days. I visit a lot of websites covering many interests and so many are full of caustic people and adversarial posts that its hard to get the most from them. Coming here is relaxing, almost like coming home, and that is due to the friendly atmosphere and people willing to share and listen to the needs of others.
I'm happy to help and will do my best to keep the Dan Wesson Forum the best gun site on the net.
Sorry to ramble.

This is DWF in one very short sentence: "Coming here is relaxing, almost like coming home".
Everyone here makes DWF what it is, not the Admins, Mods, Range Officers.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

So, I see you have a position of "Mods", so what is/does a Range Officer do here?
