Hi all just stumbled across this forum and thought it may be a good place to ask my question. I ran across a DW 357 with a 6" barrel today in my local gun shop. Not sure which model it was but I believe it to be a 15-2, not sure I'n not that familiar with his revolvers. It had the adjustable rear sight it that would help to identify it. I would guess the gun was about 85%. Bluing was worn on the barrel and cylinder I would guess from holster wear. Lock up was tight and mechanically it seemed sound. They were asking $300 for it. Is this a good price on this gun? No other barrels are included and wrenches were missing too. I almost bought it and now I’m kicking myself for not. I think I’ll go back tomorrow, my thought is this was a good deal. Input please!

Sounds like it's probably a 15-2 model, assuming it doesn't have the older Porkchop style shroud.

From your description, that's a pretty fair price for the gun. They can sometimes be found cheaper, but you'll have to look for a while to get one…and often they go for $400 or more.

Welcome aboard!  Post pics & tell us all about it, if you get it.Laugh

In my area any DW for $300 is a steal--go ahead and get it, you won't be dissapointed.

seattleshawn-

Welcome to DWF, please stop by our New Members area and tell us a little about yourself.

If you can buy a sound, functionally correct Dan Wesson for $300, you should probably DO IT. Blueing, barrel tools, extra barrels and shrouds, grips, etc.  are all "fixable". Dan Wesson Forum is your one stop shopping place for info on how to do this, but you need a Dan Wesson revolver to get started.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hey thanks! I did place a post in the new member area. I decided to pass on that DW I went back and looked at it today and decided that it had been shot ALOT. Even though it seemed to lock up tight it showed alot more wear than I had first thought. I have come across a few online for about 50 bucks more that apear to be in much better shape so I think Ill wait till I find one I like. I would really like to come across a pistol pack but that may be asking for to much. Ill let you know what I end up with. I will own one... and soon!!!

At least on Gun Broker, the Pistol Pack market seems a little soft, prices seem fairly good right now
