Nice thing about the Dans in my opinion.
I was at the range last weekend, don’t get there as often as I like. I wanted to do a comparison with my two model 15-2s. I attached a VH 8 on one and a V8 on the other.
This is what I experienced; the HV8 grouped tighter than the other with mid-range loads. These were 6.5 grains of Universal pushing a 158 gr. Hard cast SWC. I mean a lot tighter.
I moved up to 13.5 grains of 2400 and the groups were much closer to one another.
I moved down to 3.0 grains of Bullseye in a .38 case pushing a 148 grain hard cast WC and again pretty close.
I am assuming and only assuming of course, that the power of the mid-range Universal load was causing enough recoil to effect the point of aim on the lighter barrel before the bullet fully exited the barrel as where the velocity of the higher charged 2400 moved the bullet out of the barrel faster and was not affected by the recoil.
On the light load side, there was virtually no recoil so the theory doesn’t apply.
In conclusion, I will either scope the non heavy barrel, use the mid range in the HV8s, and try my HV6 barrel with the mid-range load.
Having the option to use a barrel configuration for load configurations in a very cool option that the Dan’s allow one to do!

Sounds like some serious experimentation, and the conclusions sound solid. Another advantage of the DW system you may not have thought of is you could have done the same test using the same barrel to eliminate it from the possible variation factor. Whew, I just used too many big words this early in the morning, sounds like you had fun.
