To Shoot's comment,
I can never figure out how the low bidder get the road job's. Bid's fewer guys standing around watching the other guys work?
Most of us are, or have worked hard some or most of our lives. Some made better educational and career decisions; some made better investments; and we all know somebody that did both and left us long before his time.
Whether I am working or playing, I thank the Lord for the grace he has given me to be grateful for what I have and enjoy today. I was told one time if I live with one foot in yesterday and the other in tomorrow, I an peeing all over today.
To many today, having any job is nothing to gripe about.

Oh..one or two might be real…SuperMagFan you reconized anybody ?
I've leaned on a shovel or two before and but also had an ambulance
ride for heat stroke once too. Road Construction can be a hurry up
and wait deal, mostly due to inspectors for this and that.
Never been without a job since I was 15, but never got any extra school''in
either, my education was working jobs no one else likes, Trash truck,
Tractor trailor, Building construction, mechanic, you know, the kind of jobs
you get your hands dirty. We're just as bad with 15+ % unemployment
here in my area and I could have three jobs I know of tomorrow. But
I like this one with pros and cons, I'm outside and I get rain days and
winters off and I'm really getting use to that after 15 years.

My only serious complaint about my job is that I work for an idiot with bi-polar disorder and I constantly live in fear that he's going to screw up the whole thing and the company is going to go out of business.
I have the same problem only worse. I own my own company and most days I want to kick my boss's butt.
