Yes folks, it's one of those days...that type of day when you think you're expecting one thing & surprise , you learn something new.Confused

I thought I was doing good by getting this large frame Houge grip for $16 shipped...

Image Enlarger

It was advertised as a Hogue 58000 Monogrip...sounds good so far...but I didn't notice the little "durable nylon" words at the upper left of the package. And if I did, well, I'd assume that it meant the nylon framework inside. Well, surprise !Embarassed The freakin' thing is ALL nylon! Yep, no rubber, just hard-as-a-rock plastic...and the model number sticker on the bottom is actually 58100 not 58000.

This is the first I've heard of a plastic Hogue grip, so lesson learned I guess. I just thought I'd let the rest of you know, in case you didn't know such a thing existed either.Screwy If it wasn't so cheap, I'd be peeved & demand a refund from the seller, but my "lesson learned" price just happens to be $16 in this case, so what the heck.lol2 Slap Embarassed

Yes, and I learned something from Hogue that I'll share.  When you order grips that are out of stock directly from Hogue, and when they finally get around to making your grip, they grab any package and slip the grip and screw in the package and relable it on the bottom of the "bubble".  In my case I got two large frame wood grips in a small frame packages that had a white sticker with the correct number stuck on the bottom of the "bubble".  I called to verify what was going on before I opened the package and that is what they told me.

I never really liked their plastic grips

for that exact reason. I did however, spend a few bucks about three

years ago for some nice wood stocks….via e-bay from someone. When I

got them, they would not slip on. I emailed Hogue

and they were really nice, they said to send the grips and the V15 and

they would fit them. They also asked that the gun be made inoperable,

so, I took off the barrel and cylinder. I got it back at no charge to

me except for my shipping to them.Cool - Photo

It's been my experience that all Hogue wood grips fit extremely tight.  For a couple of them I had to pistol whip the gun onto a carpeted floor to get them on.

Actually, I was surprised that I could get them off again.  It was tough but it worked  Now I put a very light coat of vaseline on the stub before puting the grip on.

Hey CF-

I'm a little late on this topic but I have the Hogue grip that you thought  you were purchasing.

PM your address to me and I will send you a brand new one, gratis, that I won't be using.
