As promised for the New Year
Ode to the 1911
Brianchild of Browning, designer supreme,
came the 1911, the handgunners dream.
Designed and built a century ago,
how could he possibly know?
That Model 1911 in .45ACP
perfect handgun would come to be.
Through War and unrest
it meets every test.
Somme to Ardennes, Chosin and Hue
It marches on in battle even today.
First made by Colt, then many others
Including those beloved by our DWF Brothers.
Baer and Wilson, Jarvis and Brown
the 1911 gunsmiths of great reknown.
So question not the greatest pistol ever made
Due to JMB’s genius, 1911 makes the grade.
I never said it would be good, just that it would be here 
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Jim and I worked pretty hard on that (well, I worked pretty hard on the Jim, then it sort of flowed)
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
