I now have the 4" V-H barrel recently acquired fitted to the 15-2 & the EWK front sight so I have the "kit" complete.
I'm now looking for a holster for the new configuration. As I don't wear a belt I'm looking at a paddle type, preferably able to be rotated & locked for cant. It seems that the ones for the Ruger GP-100 are the best fit for the V-H barrel so thats where I went looking. My 6" rig is actually for a S&W 686, but it seems the squarer under-lug of the GP 100 is closer to the DW design.
Ive narrowed it down to a shortlist & would like to know if any of you have experience with them, or can suggest something matching these requirements to suggest.
T.I.A. as always.

Well it arrived here today.
Unfortunately the bolt that attaches the paddle, & allows the (included) belt loop attachment to be used & adjusts the forward cant is stripped internally & will not tighten or loosen at all making it useless.
I've contacted the seller by e-mail &am awaiting a reply.
I'm supposed to just use E-Bays return process which is horrible. We'll see stay tuned.

Well it arrived. Not the seller's fault he mailed it promptly but mail was slow.
The clamping screw on this one works fine so it was just a defective part before.
The gun is set up with a small dowel for the front sight channel behind the EWK fiber-optic & the holster is stretching to fit in it gallon Ziploc. I'll give it a couple of days & update then.
It seems like a very nice fit from playing with the old, bad one.
Question:
Do any of you use a specialty holster lube?
If so which one & how do you like it?

Since the model 15-2 VH4" is about 2 pounds 8 ounces loaded, I am curious as to how the weight of your firearm plus the holster is supported on your hip without the use of a belt. My experience has been that I need a substantial belt to even carry my model 15-2 VH2.5". I have friends who prefer to carry without a belt but are only able to successfully do it with smaller light weight firearms. I would appreciate it if I could share with them how you manage that much weight using a paddle attachment on the holster and no belt.

Simply put, I can't.
You're correct, it simply pulls elastic waist pants down with its weight.
But, to be fair, its not advertised a being able to be worn without a belt. Exactly the opposite in fact they recommend a belt both for anti-cant resistance & to prevent problems like you describe as well as holster retention in the event of tumbling.
Its not a problem to me either because that wasn't why I bought it!
Easy on Easy off is possible with it & that was why I went with a paddle for the 4" setup.
Right now the holster is setting up with the revolver inserted, a necessary part of any new leather, but in a day or so when thats complete I'll post some pictures.

A belly band holster would be the ticket- something like a ComfortTac.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Yes a belly band might work, but yet again I had no intention of using the paddle without a belt.
Your post did get me thinking, though (never a good thing) . . . something in prototype stages is brewing.

OK, pics as promised.
I used the "bad holster" as the "flip side" of the good replacement. The paddle's cant is different as you may notice. The distressed brown finish actually looks much nicer in real life. The 4" V-H barrel is darn near a perfect fit & The thumb break works perfectly well.
I'm well pleased with it.
