I found a note from Dan Wesson Firearms in the box of a 15" Standard Barrel Assembly I won on Gunbroker. Stinger will post it for me once I open a topic. I think this is the definitive statement on which way to install a Patridge sight. It will make everybody Happy.

Here you go ...

"Thanks for the purchase of one of our long barrel assemblies!!

The front sight blade installed on the shroud is a special blade designed only for the 10, 12 & 15 inch lengths. This blade is wider than the colored insert blades so that you will enjoy a minimal amount of white air space in your sight picture. The blade is also lower in order to minimize your holdover at extra long ranges. Finally, the the blade does not have a colored insert so that you may file it down to cause an impact at certain specific ranges. This means that you may order extra sights and cut them down and interchange them when you are shooting at specific, known ranges such as in metallic Silhouette competitions.

Installation of the blade may be done either way into the shroud thus facilitating your individual shooting desires."

I think I could learn to post pictures. After all, I can totally assemble Dans. I like to think of myself as an executive type with my Wife, Snake-eye, and Stinger as my IT department. 😄. Actually, it is my love of Dans that is responsible for me using a smart phone, giving up newspapers, learning to email, shop on line, Google,  and join the forum. I will shortly be sharing some info I found out about the early days of Supermags.

I concur wholeheartedly .. I have determined that you are trainable, so the saying; "You can't teach an old dog new tricks", does not apply in this instance.

I get a reward when I do what the wife wants me to do. Happy wife, Happy life. I think that is Ron's motto.
