I actually sold some barrel assemblies on GunBroker over the past couple of weeks. One guy had the winning bid ($171) on my V8 assembly we exchanged a couple of emails and he was going to pay with PayPal and I never heard another word! Ended up re-listing it and it went for $280 so it worked out for me in the end.

I also had an MOA Maximum for sale, the discontinued model and it had a lot of options on it. Some moron sent me an email and stated he had an FFL and could get a new one anywhere for less than mine was, so I should lower the price. I told him "Fine, then go anywhere else and buy one and leave me alone."

Nothing I described in my two examples (on DWF) was unethical, it was simply a matter of misunderstanding what we might be offering, and what we might be expecting.
I would say that anyone making transactions on DWF for sale, purchase, or trade might want to do some easy "due diligence":
1) Look at Post Count (is this guy a drive-by Forum Ninja?)
2) Look back at recent posts made by your intended "partner" (are they civil, coherent, and knowledgeable?)
3) Check references- DWF Staff and active Site Supporters are a good resource. If you know someone here that seems to think and behave the way you do, reach out by PM to that person and ask for their opinion. These communications are not public (PM means Private Message), if you ask an intelligent question, you are likely to get an informed opinion.
Finally, since transactions on DWF are personal (no fees, not a formal auction/selling site), either party can terminate a transaction at any point prior to the transfer of money and/or merchandise.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
