Can't see any problem with showing serial # unless you know your gun is stolen....that might cause a problem...lol

thanks everybody,
Had someone tell me that if someone gets your serial number and turns it in as stolen and they seen it on the internet and you have it , it can cause you a lot of hassles. you, would have to prove it's yours and obtained it through legal means. I know all mine are legal, and not stolen.

Everything I own has gone thru a state approval and purchased from an FFL, I'm pretty sure that my guns are legal.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That is a thought Willy, but I think they would have to prove it was legally theirs, as well.

There has been auctions where they show just part of serial number and I email them because the number might make me a pair of consecutive numbered guns and they won't tell me. I've d heard on hear I believe that consecutive numbered guns is desirable to obtained.

One of my pairs only exists because the second was a consecutive number.-Mike
Same here! If I didn't know that Ed & Fred were sequential/consecutive numbers, I would have probably only bought one. But since they are, well, I had better not split them up, so I bought them both!
I think a lot of the whole "show the S/N" thing is a general misconception. As long as you have a legal paper trail that matches your S/N's, nobody can claim them as theirs & take them from you. Well, unless "THEY" come & try, then of course my guns will be pried from my cold dead...
And BTW in the spirit of this discussion, Ed & Fred's S/N's are...
