You may notice all my pictures have vanished into thin air...even my signature pic has disappeared. A couple weeks ago, Huntingpictures.net disappeared from the internet galaxy, thus taking every one's pictures with it, and they had thousands of members. There was a virus on Photobucket just prior to that, but they came back in a couple days. Still no Huntingpictures.net. After 2 weeks, I believe it is toast.
I've found a new site, but it will take awhile to reload all the pictures. There won't be as many as I had there, but I will replace those lost on this site and try to get them back on in their rightful place. It will take time.

That's a real bummer. Even just the work involved to reattach them to a new site is a bummer.
I've been worried off & on about the same thing, if something should happen to my main pic host site. I've got around 3,500 pics on there (only maybe 400 of them are gun related) & most of them are linked to a dozen or more forums all over the place. I guess that's one of the perils of the interweb.
I plan on backing them all up one of these days soon, so most of them aren't lost forever if the site should croak on me. I should probably try to upload more of the DW related ones here, in case something does happen with my host site. I guess it's one of those hard to break habits.

IHMSA,
I was wondering what had happened to your pics, that is very troubling. I know how long it took me to set up camp in Photobucket and I have only a few photos compared to yours. I do not envy the task in front of you, that is time consiming and never as much fun the second time around.

The good thing is that I have all the pics on my computer. The 4600+ that were on Huntingpictures.net were all re-sized to fit forums better. Thanks to CF, who reminded me that those same pics were linked to many other sites, so all those are gone too. Now I have multiple websites to go back to and try to redo those pics. Whoever did this to Huntingpics.net should die a long, very painful death.

I didn't even know anything happened at photobucket. They must have recovered pretty fully. Sorry about all the work ahead of you, and I think you must be working a lot lately, haven't seen you much here.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I didn't either. I guess I'll have to go there and see what happened.

I just checked Photobucket and my rather minor league collection is still there. On a sort of related subject, I recently started doing a full (complete to OS and all files) backup of both laptops on a weekly basis. I use a Seagate Black Armor external drive, which worked out very well. It carries full recovery software, does a complete backup, and it goes in the fireproof gunsafe after backing up every Sunday night
