Hey guys its been a long while. I would attempt yall up .. but time is a bit short today. Friday night ( 2014-02-07) my house was burglarize during the day... the thieves targeted guns mostly.
Among them is my most prized possesion.. my 15-2 that I bought in 1986 as a pistol pac. This gun is currently shod with LB's "winged" grip.. I suspect it was the first one he made for sale like it... might be the only one. Here is a pic of the gun :
The serial number is visabel here but for ease... 373955
The gun has SS crane latch, hammer, and trigger I installed my self... they are not factory. It is wearing this grip but not the barrel nor the EWK scope holder. Just a 6" VH with a EWK optical sight.
If yall see this gun .. please let me know ( gunbroker ect)
Other guns stolen:
Parker Bros. SxS 12GA no SN, but my initails are all over it ( FMA)
CZ75 B ( now recovered)
Rossi 357 Lever SN 0101654
Many thinks and god bless.

Man that sucks, I will keep my eyes open and let you know if I see anything. I hope you recover all your guns and the guilty party gets what they deserve.

Thanks all!
Well the first gun show since the robbery was this past weekend, and I was there in force... but to no avail. The insurance has paid, but the bank is holding the check for 10 business days.
While at the gun show I went ahead and purchased a gun safe, its an older smaller model that the local distributor will no longer carry.
Its the one shown at the top of the page:

I know I am not suppose to be all bothered about physical things, but I am rather certain, this has put me in a bad funk. Buying the safe, is not my idea of a sexy way way to spend money.
Thanks for all the concerns and well wishes. I have an idea.. but will post hopefully post it in the proper forum.

One of my garage buildings was broken into about twenty years ago and I can tell you I felt personally VIOLATED by that act. Just knowing that someone had broken down the door and stolen a full sized rolling tool chest complete with tools, many of them belonging to my father and grandfather, just made me feel sick! I still get weird feelings when I think about somebody in there taking my stuff. And this was not even my home, so I can only imagine how violated you feel. By all means, get a safe and bolt it to the floor.

Pinetor,
I bought and installed early last year, one extremely similar to the one at the top of the page you posted a link to. I realized I had some "dead space" in my den next to the fireplace, so I recessed it into the wall out of the way. It took about 2 weeks however, when I was done, it became an addition. Not only is it bolted to the floor, I framed in a cage so it's also bolted to the back and the top.
Some may say I went to extreme's however I feel over kill in this situation is good
Just giving some ideas.
I know how you feel my house was B&E about 5 year ago. Thanks to my gun safe A DW in the nightstand
( it was later recovered and returned) was the only weapon taken. Having the castle invaded made me both
angry and paranoid for a long time. Recommend getting an alarm system. too. This day and age the crook
are leaving the bad area for the nice neighborhood .( better picking) Also look for someone you know they
know who rob you.

Hey Pine, good to hear form you, wish it was under different circumstances, that sucks man.
Any man that goes into another mans home and steals his property deserves to lose his primary
hand and both his nuts as he does not know how to use either. Sadly, as OLDDAN OWNER said
it is most likely someone you know or at least knows you, that is a statistic fact, not an opinion.
Dogs are a great detour, don't have to be large ones either, one is good, two is better.
Yea, the hair and or odor can be an issue, but depending on breed and maintenance this can
be controlled.
Best wish on recovering the girls,

I'm sorry you and your family had to endure this! I had a friend whose home was broken into and I know it was an emotional drain on them. I'm glad you recovered the one.

It has been 40 years since I was ripped off also. I really sucks! Don't forget security items like safes are tax deductible on your returns. It helps.
I did not realize this! Below is a link to some info on it. Needless to say I will be purchasing a safe this year!

I use a Sentry Home/Office safe that I got at Sam's Club several years ago that works pretty well. except for the "ready guns" (AR and the S&W 9mm) everything else lives there, and if we are away from home for more than a day, they go in there too, I break down the AR and lock up the lower.
Interestingly enough, I just saw this at Cabela's today:
Not fire resistant, but a not bad alternative at a very good price, and you can bolt it down to the floor
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
