I like when seller's advertise NIB or NOS and you can clearly see a turn ring on
cylinder, you know it did not get that from a couple factory test proof cartridges.
New is new and like new is 98% .

I agree. However, in the case of NOS/NIB revolvers, if the gun did sit on some dealer's shelf for X-amount of years, I would pretty much expect a turn ring. Every time the dealer shows it to someone, the customer is gonna cock the hammer (& probably dry fire the thing) a dozen times before he moves on to something he likes more. But the recoil shield will still remain looking unfired.
That was the case with 3 in a batch of Porkchops I bought.
Now if a NOS gun sits unsold at a DW warehouse/plant/store room for X-amount of years...then I would expect that baby to look pristine, with zero turn ring.
If a seller really listed NOS & NIB accurately, I would assume NIB to mean that the gun is unfired, but has been fingered & fondled. NOS would mean that it sat untouched at the manufacturer (or even at the dealer) from day one & has just now seen the light of day.
That's just my $.02

Well I have BA on GB as NOS.. but my meaning was .. unfired sat on a store self. Its never been fired, but it cold use a good polish ( I will let the new decide on that). I couldn't say NIB as I don't have the box. Looks like I will be keeping it though.
