Does anyone still use one?

Anyone know the specs on weight capacity on the Vintage Pachs & Gun-ho Range cases??

My current rolling 4 gun range case is huge 3,888 cu in capacity, It hold up to 4 Large Frame Dans, 2 pair ears, tools, targets, up to 400 rounds of ammo.   With 3 guns ammo capacity doubles.   It's great for Outdoor Ranges where there is lots of room.

PROS: Capacity, wheels, built-in collapsible pull handle, exterior molded bumpers. foam-lined hard plastic dividers, Sturdy carry handles on 3 sides.   I also run a locking cable through all 3 handles when diverting to other locations as deterrent when left in truck.. Piano-hinged lid.  I could drop it from 2 stories and the contents will likely be undamaged

CONS: Huge: Exterior 20"X20"X16, Almost embarrassing to take to an indoor range where space is tight. Capacity/Weight: Fully loaded it weighs in @ 56-57lbs.   Lifting into truck before shooting ain't for the weak. Locking latches could likely be compromised with a screwdriver.

Looking for something smaller about 1650 cu in with wheels and padlockable.   A full hinge would be nice too.

Maybe a Pelican 1510 or 1550?    Problem is the dimensions may not be a solution as a all-inclusive 3-gun range pack.   Having an additional backpack or soft range bag defeats the purpose.   2 guns are always Large Frame Dans.

I like the access setup of the vintage cases.   Adding a little wheel dolly would be simple.   Concerned about lock/security.

What are y'all using?

Pics, comments, suggestions?

I use a regular softshell range bag that can hold 4 large frame Dans , plus ammo, ears, tools, paper targets, etc.  it’s a Bagmaster brand and it can weigh as much as 50 lbs loaded.

I just use a airline carry-on bag, which has an extendable handle and wheels. Don't leave guns in it or drop from second story buildings.

Check out the local Harbor Freight for their line of Pelican clones...

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
