So Ive been in contact with Lbruce (LB Grips) to make a trully unique grip for my .357 715V revolver.
Ive been searching "revolver grips" on google and various other search engines to find something unique and that is comfortable and visually pleasing.
Im not a harcore resident evil fan, but Ive seen the movies (havent played the games) and came across this picture today when looking for a grip and kind of like the shroud as well.
I know this is an airsoft revolver but I think Lbruce can make the grip and Ewk could swing the barrel shroud. What do you guys think?
[EDIT] - Not sure the first pic is loading properly so heres another try:

1) Lookwise?
2) Functional – smaller shroud means PPC while being concealable?
3)Do-able?
Your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Rod

Ya I was wondering the same thing in regards to the grips, I do have large hands but I think the grip is a bit oversized, we can always reduce the size.
As for the shroud, I think the thickness and width helps the fact that the length isnt a 6".
Looking forward to hearing some of the members opinions on this.
Also the one pictured has a black / blued finish, where as my .357 mag is stainless steel so I wonder what it would look like with either the black /blued shroud or a stainless steel shroud to match the frame.
Sincerely,
Rod

Eric, I'm kind of hoping that the production of something like that will be lower on the priority list than some nice, standard VH and H shrouds, different barrel lengths (3"?), scope/sight mounts, etc.
I'm confused with the desire to make PPC type shrouds compatible with concealability.
Vastly different functionality, IMHO.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Sorry, did not mean to say that my little project was any more important then any other project brought up by the other forum members, as a matter of fact I now that EwK has his hands full and due to being skilled as he is he has many projects in his hands.
I find the combination of the accuracy and reduction of recoil from the PPC shroud with the shorter concealable size makes it an attractive piece at least in my opinion. It does look blocky, but rounding of the edges and removal of the "top part" would make it more attractive.
I have a local guy whos going to do the piece for me, I was just hoping for some feedback from EwK and the community in general.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rod

Sorry.. in awe of the gun size I forgot to answer your question, I have and love
the RE movies, they are awesome shooter movies , especially on big LCD in HD
with 1000w surround ....that is if your into that sort of thing and
is not home.
Totally think the PPC type shroud would look tough and the two tone look would
look nice if a blue shroud was a satin or matte finish and not high gloss.
Pic you posted looks something like a two tone, I'm guessing that is what
your after. The grips are pretty cool, is that a plastic inset ? are you wanting
all wood or are you looking to exactly copy those ones ?
We have had the this discussion before about specialty shouds and rails and lights
and laser's and ......even though it was fun to discuss the general consensus was
that the "horse before the cart" or we need to see standard production barrels and
shrouds before any of the specialty stuff. On another note there has been alot
of request for PPC type shrouds, something I'm sure Eric is looking into as well.

Thanks for the reply, Im looking at two tone, I think that would be very attractive in spite of the block look. My local gunsmith is cutting me a deal with the PPC/Action Cup plus this custom piece so Im really excited, hes got some amazing custom barrels in his showroom makes me drool lol, he is cutting me a deal due to not having to have to remove the barrel himself, being it a Dan Wesson he only has to build the barrel and not take apart the weapon like he does for his Colts.
As far as the grip goes Ill probably have LB do a wooden version with no plastic inset, just solid polished wood, but of course that is unless he has a list to follow as well, but weve already been discussing a custom grip so I dont think there will be a problem there.
I talked to my gunsmith about drilling a small hole a few inches under the barrel hole on the shroud and adding a laser / flashlight combo to the barrel.
Will definately post pictures and range report. Stay tuned.
Sincerely,
Rod

That's great Rod, can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
How soon do you think they will be done?
Eric
The gunsmith is a two brother team, they usually work with Colts and S&Ws, mostly Colts.
They are behind a bit so they asked me to be patient, but Ive left my .357 mag there yesterday for about 4 hours so they could take measurements and scan the frame into AutoCad.
They also did an amazing job in cleaning it inside and out which was nice.
When I came to pick it up they showed me a sketch of it all together on AutoCad and it looked incredible.
Turns out it will cost a bit more, they added about $20. to blue the piece for the two tone effect.
Maybe Ill have the grip in a very very dark color so as to add to the two tone effect.
They are going to work first on the custom piece, then the PPC/Action Cup, Im hoping to bring home the custom piece home in about two weeks and immediately head to the range to give it a try. As soon as Im home from the range I will load up the vid camera and get a video of it and maybe post it on youtube, as some of my buddies up north are very curious to see it.
I was going to take some pics with my cellphone of the custom barrels the installed on these Colts and some S&W, Ive never seen anything like it, but in my excitement I forgot.
They have some really intresting stuff.
They want me to head up there in a few days to see the "rough cut" whatever that means so maybe Ill have pics by then.
Sincerely,
Rod
