Good Evening Everyone,

I went to the Roanoke Valley Gun Show this morning.  The turn out was amazing!  Lots of folks walking around with goodies to sell.  Surprisingly someone had a used CBOB for $700!  I was amazed since I normally don't see them used around here.  If I hadn't purchased my CBOB a couple of months ago I would have been all over this one.  I think it was actually in better condition than mine.

After standing in line for a while I was able to get into the show.  There's one dealer that has new DW 1911's and I got to see the new Marksmen which I really liked but the guy is way to high.  I think he wanted almost $1300 for this one I can get it online for a few hundred less!

Another guy had a pork chop pac for $600.  Obviously this is an early pack and it was very Barney!  I don't think I've ever seen that much difference between the frame and shroud.  Wasn't in the best of shape so I had to pass on this one as well.

Now on the way out a guy in-line had a very nice Model 15 Pistol Pac.  He was asking a $1000 said it was a 'Gold Series'... I think the blue book makes a reference to the gold series as having Dan Wesson's signature on the shroud in gold however this was a standard VH pac.  The guy said since the emblem on the grip was gold looking that made this one a gold series.

I certainly don't claim to know everything about DW's but I'm pretty sure that all my DW grips have a gold / bronze looking emblem.  So passed on that one as well.

Maybe I'll head back tomorrow...

Hope others attending shows this weekend had better luck than I did!

Very interesting selection though!  A Pork Chop pac!!

And a CBOB for $700 - that might have been worth the investment if it was that cherry.

I agree on the Gold Pac - t'ain't the grip...

Saxet show is this weekend - I'm afraid the yard will be taking precedence though...Frown

Dusty, you must have an awesome yard, if you're putting that over a gun show.Wink

That's the 3rd Porkchop Pac I've heard of now. Too bad it was so Barney'd...however, that would be an excellent excuse to go have the set nickel plated!Cool hehe

My gun show is still about a month away. That's good in a way, because I can try to save up some money in teh meantime, in hopes can snag something cool there.

It ain't right, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do..

Great thought on the nickel plating - that's the way to turn a liability into an asset!!

That guy had that pistol pac at the last show as well... went back to the show today and was able to get the guy down to $550 but still couldn't bring myself to get it.

Fixed Barrel Dan's must be everywhere these days.  I actually saw a nice 715 6" Fixed Barrel when I went back.  A guy was carrying it around and wanted $375 for it.  The gun had some good handling marks but overall a nice gun but since I just got a 715 for $299 didn't think I needed this one.

I'll be heading to Chantilly, VA next month for The Nations Gun Show.  Hopefully I'll have better look then!

Sounds like a pretty good show overall.

-->We'll be looking for a report on the Nations!
